Abhimman stood motionless for a moment, his piercing gaze fixed on Dhairya.
The tension in the room was palpable, a silent battle of wills between two men who had once shared a semblance of trust. Dhairya's smirk was smug, yet his eyes betrayed a flicker of unease.
"Abhimman," Dhairya began, his voice dripping with insincerity. "This doesn't concern you." Abhimman took a step forward, his commanding presence cutting through the tension. "When it's about Anaya, it concerns me. You've crossed the line, sasur jee. And this time, there's no coming back."
Before Dhairya could respond, Niya stepped forward, her saccharine tone failing to mask the venom beneath. "Abhimman, darling, you're blowing things out of proportion.
This is all a misunderstanding." Abhimman's jaw tightened as he pulled out his phone, his fingers steady despite the storm brewing within him. "A misunderstanding? Let's see what you think of this."
He pressed play on an audio file, and the room was filled with the cold, calculated voices of Dhairya and Niya.
Their plan to harm Anaya was laid bare, every detail more damning than the last.
Niya's composed façade cracked, her smile faltering as panic set in.
Dhairya's expression hardened, his smirk vanishing.
He stepped closer to Abhimman, attempting to regain control of the situation. "So now you're spying on me?" he spat, his tone defensive.
"I'll do whatever it takes to protect my wife," Abhimman replied, his voice a low growl.
His eyes burned with fury, his clenched fists trembling with restrained rage. "And you? You're nothing more than a coward."
Dhairya's composure snapped, and his voice turned cold. "She was never supposed to marry you. She was my pawn, a tool to secure my deal. But instead, she chose you and ruined everything."
Abhimman's restraint evaporated.
He lunged at Dhairya, gripping him by the collar and slamming him against the wall.
"Anaya is not a pawn! She's my wife, my life, and you'll regret ever threatening her."
Niya, desperate to regain control, reached into her bag and pulled out a gun.
Her hands shook as she pointed it at Abhimman. "Back off!" she screamed, her voice high-pitched and trembling. ---
Outside, Anaya sat in the car, her hands gripping the edge of her seat. She had followed Abhimman's instructions to stay put, but the rising sense of dread gnawed at her. The thought of him facing Dhairya and Niya alone was unbearable.
Unable to sit idle, she unlocked the door and stepped out, her heart pounding as she approached the villa.
Her mind raced with every possible scenario, each one worse than the last. As she reached the entrance, muffled voices reached her ears.
Peeking through the slightly ajar door, she froze at the sight of Niya pointing a gun at Abhimman. Fear surged through her, but so did a fierce resolve.
Without hesitation, she pushed the door open and stepped inside
. "Stop!" she shouted, her voice cutting through the chaos. All eyes turned to her. Abhimman's face twisted in panic. "Anaya, what are you doing here?"
Ignoring him, she faced Niya, her gaze steady and unwavering. "Is this what you've become, Niya? So consumed by hate that you're willing to destroy lives? Go ahead, shoot me if you must
.
But let me tell you one thing—you'll never win. Not against Abhimman.
Not against us."\Niya's hands trembled violently, the gun slipping slightly in her grasp. Dhairya moved toward her, attempting to snatch the weapon, but Abhimman seized the moment.
With a swift motion, he disarmed her, sending the gun skidding across the floor
. He turned on Dhairya, shoving him hard against the wall. "You're finished," he spat, his voice dripping with venom.
---Before either Dhairya or Niya could recover, the sound of police sirens filled the air.
Raj's timely intervention had brought the authorities to the scene.
Within moments, officers stormed the villa, their presence commanding and unrelenting. "Abhimaan Singhania ?" the lead officer called out
. Abhimman stepped forward, his demeanor calm yet unyielding. "That's me," he said, gesturing toward the culprits.
"Arrest them. I have concrete evidence of their plans to harm my wife."
The officers moved swiftly, cuffing Dhairya and Niya despite their frantic protests
. Dhairya's shouts of indignation echoed through the villa, but his words carried no weight.
As the officers escorted them out, Abhimman turned to Anaya, his expression softening. "You shouldn't have come inside. It was dangerous.
" Anaya's eyes brimmed with unshed tears as she moved toward him.
Wrapping her arms around his waist, she whispered, "I couldn't stay away. I had to be here—for you, for us."
He held her tightly, his own emotions threatening to spill over. "It's over now," he murmured into her hair. "They can't hurt you anymore. I won't let anyone hurt you, ever again." ---
Later that night, the weight of the day began to lift as they sat together on the balcony
. The cool breeze carried the scent of jasmine, and the stars above twinkled like distant promises of peace.
Anaya leaned against Abhimman, her head resting on his shoulder. "I still can't believe Papa..." she trailed off, her voice breaking.
Abhimman pressed a gentle kiss to her temple, his heart aching for her. "I know it's hard," he said softly.
"But you're not alone in this. I'm here, and I'll always be here." She looked up at him, her eyes shining with gratitude and love.
"I don't know how I got so lucky to have you," she whispered. He smiled, his expression tender.
"I'm the lucky one, Anaya. You've given me a reason to fight, a reason to live."
She reached up to cup his face, her touch light but filled with emotion. "I love you, Abhimman." He leaned in, their foreheads touching. "I love you too, Anaya
. More than anything." As they sat together, wrapped in each other's arms, the world felt a little brighter, a little kinder.
Their love had weathered the storm, and now, they were ready to embrace the calm that followed. -
