I stood in the empty office, the sound of the shattered vase still echoing in my ears. Tara's smirk infuriated me further, but I couldn't waste my energy on her right now. Anaya was gone, and I needed to find her.
The slap she delivered stung more than just my skin—it cut into my soul.
The look in her eyes before she walked away was etched into my mind: heartbreak, betrayal, disbelief.
How could this have happened? I grabbed my coat and stormed out of the office, ignoring Tanya's concerned look. The drive back home felt like an eternity.
My hands gripped the steering wheel tightly, and my mind raced with thoughts of her.
Would she believe me if I explained? Or had I already lost her? When I reached home, I rushed inside, calling her name.
"Anaya? Anaya!" The silence was deafening. I searched every room, but she wasn't there. Instead, I found my mother sitting in the living room, her arms crossed and a sly smirk on her face.
"She left," she said, almost triumphantly. "What do you mean she left?" I demanded, my voice rising. "She stormed in, grabbed her things, and walked out. Good riddance, if you ask me." Her words ignited a fire within me.
I turned on my heel and left without another word. I needed to find her, to tell her the truth, to make her understand.
But where would she go? ---

The soft knock on my door startled me.
For a moment, I thought it might be Abhimaan. My heart foolishly leapt at the thought, but then I remembered the betrayal, the lies.
I sat up and wiped my tears as the door creaked open. My childhood friend, Meera, stepped inside. "Anaya? What happened?" she asked, her eyes wide with concern. I broke down again, the pain too much to bear. "He...he betrayed me, Meera,"
I whispered through my sobs.
Meera sat beside me, wrapping me in her arms. "Tell me everything."
I recounted what I'd seen at his office, the woman in his arms, the way he looked at me when I caught them. Meera listened quietly, her hand gently rubbing my back. "Anaya, I know you're hurt, but maybe there's an explanation. Abhimaan doesn't seem like the type to—"
"There is no explanation, Meera!" I snapped, my voice trembling with anger. "He promised me...he promised me forever. And he threw it away for her."
Meera sighed but didn't argue further. "Stay here as long as you need. I'm here for you." Her kindness was overwhelming,
but my heart still ached for the man I'd trusted with my whole being.

* I parked outside Anaya's childhood home, the one place I was certain she would go. Her car was there, confirming my suspicion.
I stood at the door for a long time, debating whether to knock. She hated me right now. Would she even listen? Finally, I lifted my hand and knocked. Once. Twice. No response.
I rested my forehead against the door, my voice barely a whisper. "Anaya, I'm sorry. Please...please let me explain." The silence inside was unbearable. I waited for what felt like hours before I finally turned and walked away, my heart heavy. ---*
But then what she said next It shattered me " you have broken me Mr abhimman you can go from here forever". That's it I walked away .

I heard his voice through the door, soft and full of regret. "Anaya, I'm sorry. Please...please let me explain."
I clenched my fists, tears streaming down my face. How dare he? After what I'd seen, how could he think I'd even want to hear his excuses?
" you have broken me Mr abhimaan you can go from here forever . " I said and there was it
silence
But as his footsteps faded away, a hollow ache settled in my chest.
Despite everything, a part of me missed him. His smile, his laughter, the way he made me feel safe. But I couldn't forgive him. Not yet.
Not when the image of him with that woman haunted me so deeply. I curled up on the bed, clutching a pillow tightly, wishing for the strength to move on from the man who had broken my heart. .....
