37. Pregnant?

Sofia's pov:

I don't think I should even see his face after whatever he has done to me.But here I was, sitting beside him in the car, forced to play a part until I could help Kiara escape from here. I won't let my words die which I have given to Adrik.

He placed his hand over mine, faking his love. I wonder how this man could act so well.
"Are you okay?"
he asked, his voice soft.
All I could do was nod, my heart filled with resentment. I wanted to lash out, to scream at him, to spit off the shit he's doing with me . But I remained silent, my anger simmering beneath the surface.

As the car took a halt, I stepped outside to enter the Mansion but suddenly my head started spinning. It's due to crying I guess.

I stepped into my bathroom, ready to unwind, but a sudden wave of nausea swept over me. My stomach churned, and I rushed to the sink, barely making it in time.

Why am I vomiting all of a sudden?

"Could I be pregnant? Oh my God, I forgot about my missed period in all this mess"

I asked the maid to bring a pregnancy test kit for me without letting anyone know.
She handed it to me.

I took it and entered the washroom.
My heart was pounding in my chest heavily.
I just want the result to be negative. Not like I don't want a baby, I just don't want a baby in all this mess, not with the man who's cheating with me with another woman.

I took the test and waited for the result.

The surface beneath me slipped away as I saw the result. It was 'positive'. I'm pregnant. Tears welled up in my eyes. A wave of panic washed over me.
I don't know how to deal with it.

I went to the bed where he was already asleep. I decided to take the test while he was unconscious, avoiding any unwanted questions or suspicions.

"Will he even accept this baby?"
I wondered, a knot tightening in my stomach.
He doesn't want to have babies that was much clearer after the way he kept me on birth control.

But I was on a heavy dose of birth control. How could this happen? Afterall it's not 100% effective, yes, It's not my fault.

I tossed and turned, unable to sleep. My mind raced with thoughts, unable to find peace. Suddenly, my phone buzzed.

It was a message from the number Adrik gave me, 'Tomorrow at 10:30 PM, a car will be waiting at the back gate of your mansion. If needed, men will be there to assist you. All you have to do is bring Kiara till the gate. Security is tight around your mansion so be careful don't get caught."

Everything is fucked up right now. How am I going to do this? But this is my only chance. Once Kiara is free, I'll be free too.

The next day dawned. I opened my eyes they were puffy due to crying. My eyes widened. He was sitting in front of me on the chair, he looks mad. Does he saw the pregnancy test kit? No he can't I hided it.

"Why were you crying?"
He asked, his voice laced with concern

"I had a nightmare"
I replied getting up.

"Why didn't you wake me up?"
He asked.

"I didn't want to disturb you"

"I'm fine now,"
I assured him, forcing a smile.

"Amore, you don't have to think twice before waking me up,"
he said softly.

"I know," I replied, my voice barely a whisper.

He pulled me closer, his arms wrapping around me.

"Go back to sleep,"
he said, his voice filled with concern.
"I'll be here."

'No, I'm fine now" I replied assuring him.

I had explained the plan to kiara in the morning, how she's going to escape and all. As the clock ticked towards our designated time, a sense of anticipation and nervousness filled the air.

Kiara wore one of our maid's uniform and I also gave her a wig so nobody could recognise her. Hiding her from the family's intense gazes I led her towards the back gate. No doubt, when Adrik said that ' Security is tight around the Mansion' yes it is. There are 8 guards to keep watch on the back gate. I knew I have to distract the guards.

"Kiara, listen carefully,"
I whispered, my voice barely audible.

"Now, I'll act like someone has attacked us and call the guards for help. Meanwhile, you make your escape,"
I instructed. Kiara nodded, her eyes filled with gratitude.

She pulled me into a tight hug.
"Thank you, Sofia. Thank you so much."

"Take care, I'll miss you"
I said, my voice filled with worry.

"I'll miss you too, dear,"
she replied, her voice a mix of relief and sadness.

I started screaming,
"Help! Help!!"
The guards, alerted by my cries, rushed towards me, their attention diverted. Meanwhile, Kiara, seizing the opportunity, escaped the gate. with the agility of a cat, She climbed the huge gate and jumped over it, disappearing into the night. Just as Adrik had said, she was incredibly smart.

"What happened, ma'am?"
one of the guards asked, his voice filled with concern.

"I saw someone here,"
I replied, my voice trembling. The guards, alerted, scattered in different directions, their flashlights cutting through the darkness as they searched for the intruder.

The family members also rushed towards the noise, confused and worried. I was too loud, but it was a necessary risk.

"What happened, Sofia?"
Dad, asked concerned

"I saw someone here"
I replied, faking the fear.

"But what were you doing here at this time?"
Ansh asked, his voice was dangerous like he was already doubting me

"Get in,"
Ma interrupted, her voice stern.
"We can discuss this later."

I sat on the couch, all eyes on me, waiting for my explanation.
