Sofia's pov:

I stepped out of the car. A grand meeting was about to unfold, bringing together the country's most prominent business tycoons. I was there to accompany Ansh, who was expected to arrive later. As I entered the venue, the air crackled with energy and the room buzzed with conversation. It was a sea of familiar faces, each representing a powerful force in the business world.

The staff member handed me the room code, and I made my way towards the meeting area, which was located in a palatial section of the venue. As I walked, a sudden, chilling grip tightened around my waist. A pair of amber eyes met mine, and before I could react, a hand clamped over my mouth. He pulled me to his side, pressing his hand harder against my mouth, as he caged me against the wall. I struggled to break free from the stranger's grasp.

He finally released me, and I recoiled, my voice laced with shock and anger,
"Who the heck are you and how dare you to touch me bastard!!"

He chuckled, a low, unsettling sound, and replied,
"Does it matter?"
He gently tucked the hairs on my face behind my ear. Before I could react, he lunged forward, attempting to pull me into a hug. I recoiled, pushing him away with all my might. He persisted, his grip tightening, but I managed to break free and dashed towards the meeting room, my heart pounding with fear and adrenaline.

I rushed into the meeting room, my heart still pounding. I sat down, taking a sip of water to calm my nerves. After a few moments, the door swung open, and Ansh entered, his imposing presence filling the room. Everyone stood up to greet him, and I followed suit, my mind still reeling from the encounter with the mysterious stranger.

The meeting commenced, but my mind was still occupied by the unsettling encounter. Who was that man? Should I tell Ansh? But the thought of the office boy incident filled me with dread. Ansh's obsessive possessiveness could lead to dangerous consequences. I didn't want anyone else to suffer because of his twisted affection.

One of the boys in our staff was just complementing me and Ansh shot him in his arm twice. I couldn't risk another life because of me.

Ansh was deeply engrossed in the meeting, his attention focused on every word spoken. Meanwhile, my mind was adrift, lost in the unsettling encounter from earlier. I was a world away, oblivious to the proceedings. Suddenly, I felt a piercing gaze on me. Ansh's eyes, filled with a mixture of confusion and concern, snapped me back to reality. Startled, I refocused my attention on the meeting, just as it drew to a close.

We returned home, and as I settled down, the incident from the previous week resurfaced in my mind. Should I confide in Ansh about the mysterious stranger? The decision weighed heavily on my mind. I decided to postpone the decision until the next day. For now, sleep beckoned, as it was late and I needed rest.

As I drifted off to sleep, I instinctively reached out and hugged Ansh. A wave of warmth washed over me, and I realized he was feverish. It wasn't surprising, considering his relentless work schedule.

He was aware of my sleep habit of hugging him and never had a problem with it,but it held no special significance. Our relationship was transactional, a cold, calculated arrangement. He was my hired companion, a mere teddy bear for comfort, while I was just a whore for him.

I stepped out of the bedroom and asked the maid for a wet cloth and some water , a common remedy for fever. Returning to Ansh's side, I gently placed the cool cloth on his forehead, replacing it frequently to help lower his body temperature. I sat by his side, vigilantly monitoring his condition until his fever subsided

I don't know when I fell asleep beside him. When I woke up in the morning, he was already in the bathroom. He probably thought I cared for him. But that wasn't the case. I did what any human would do in such a situation. It was nothing more than a basic act of kindness.
