42. Destiny!

Author's pov:

Mrs Smith took a deep breath and started.
"She was so in love with that boy"

"I'm pretty sure it was her first love,"
she mused.
"Because she never talked to me about other boys, just him."

"Many girls were behind him too and she feared rejection, So she never confessed her love"

Ansh and Leo were listening intensely.

"Did she ever try to talk to him?"
Ansh asked, his voice filled with wonder.

Smiling softly, Mrs. Smith added,
"She was incredibly shy. In fact, I don't think she had ever spoken to any boy in college."

Leo raised his eyebrows amused.

"What's the point of love if it's never spoken?"
Ansh wondered aloud.

"Everyone loves differently,"
Mrs. Smith replied, her voice soft.
"She may not have had the courage to confront him, but she showed her love in her own way."

"She knew she couldn't confess her feelings in college, so she decided to wait for the right moment. Knowing he would eventually take over the family business, she resolved to work hard and secure a position in his company. Despite being an average student, she dedicated herself to her studies and eventually landed a job in his office."

Ansh realised, that boy was none other than himself.
He was stunned, yes, girls were always ready to throw themselves at him any time but he never saw any girl who would try to get his attention this way.

"Still she didn't even try to confess her love after getting the job"
Ansh said in disbelief.

"I guess She believed in destiny,"
Mrs. Smith said, a hint of wistfulness in her voice.
"She thought if it was meant to be, it would happen."

Ansh realized the conditions under which she was working in his office, and understood why she couldn't confess her feelings.

Sofia, entering the office, greeted her colleagues with a warm smile. Suddenly, her legs gave way, and she collapsed to the floor.

One of her colleagues rushed to her side, exclaiming, "Oh no, she fainted!"

Bella, hearing the Noise, rushed to the scene. Upon seeing Sofia unconscious on the floor, she immediately instructed someone to call an ambulance.

They rushed Sofia to the nearest hospital, where Bella and some colleagues anxiously awaited outside the emergency ward. Time seemed to crawl as they waited for the doctor to emerge.

After what felt like an eternity, the doctor emerged from the emergency ward.

Bella rushed towards the doctor
"Is she okay doctor"
She asked concerned.

"She had a miscarriage,"
he explained solemnly.
"The fetus had unfortunately passed away a few days ago. We had to remove it to prevent further complications and save her life."

Bella stared at the doctor, her eyes wide with disbelief.
"But what caused this, Doctor?"

The doctor replied,
"There could be various reasons, but considering her medical history, it's likely a combination of stress, anxiety, and improper diet."

"And when can we see her"

The doctor replied,
"She should regain consciousness in a few hours then you can meet her"

She nodded slowly, her voice barely a whisper,
"Okay, doctor. Thank you."

Bella waited patiently outside the ward until Sofia regained consciousness. In the meantime, she instructed her secretary to handle urgent matters in her absence.

A few hours later, a nurse informed Bella
"You can meet her now"

As she entered the room, she found Sofia staring blankly at her stomach, her eyes filled with a profound sadness.

Bella gently sat beside Sofia, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. Sofia, unable to contain her grief any longer, broke down in tears, sobbing into Bella's embrace.

"Why? Why always me?What wrong have I done?" Sofia sobbed, her voice filled with anguish.
"First, I lost my parents, and now, just when I was about to become a parent myself, I lost my baby"
she cried, her heart heavy with despair.

Bella gently caressed Sofia's hair, offering words of comfort.
"It's okay, Sofia," she whispered softly.
"I'm sorry for your loss but Life has given you a new chance. Let's start again."

"Thank you, Bella,"
she whispered, her voice barely audible.
"Thank you for being here for me, especially at my worst."
