{keep in mind that this Perris and Shane scene is happening at the same time as the previous chapter. (Jc and Fey in there canoe}

( Perris' P.O.V )

I sit in the front of the canoe as Shane sits behind me. This is to prevent the possibility of him turning around to start a conversation with me. Also for the fact that I can't stern a canoe for shit.

"Hey" Shane's whispered voice came from behind me.

I didn't turn around, instead I pretended not to hear.

"Perris," he says a little louder then a whisper.

Maybe if I don't reply he will just stop talking to me. My hopes were let down when I felt a sudden splash of cold water on my back and arm. Maybe it was an accident so i'm just going to let it go. It wasn't an accident, I felt another much large splash that soaked my hair.

My head whips around to face the boy who seems to be causing me so many problems.

"What?" I say harshly waiting to here what he possibly have to say.

"About what happened earlier," he said breaking eye contact with me, "I honestly didn't mean to catch you off guard or anything. I just thought it would be a good time since everything with that other guy. You honestly deserve so much better then him, or even me, but i promise i won't hurt you. I just care about you... a lot actually. I know that you probably didn't want to hear all this, especially from a guy like me. I just didn't know how else to tell you."

He was out of breath when he finished talking. His eyes met mine as he waiting for a reply.

"Shane, I, I'm not sure what to say," I say almost in a whisper.

I stay in silence before turning to look away from his eye. I don't think i could look at him one moment longer, for if I did, I would probably cave and take him into my arms or something chessy like that.

I never thought that Shane ever actually cared about me like that. I always thought he pitied me or just wanted to get into my pants. That's the reason I was so hard on him. I didn't want to get hurt or get into another terrible relationship with someone who didn't truly love me. Simply i just don't want to get hurt.

"Don't worry about it Perris, just paddle, it's fine," he says with a sigh.

Although I am not looking at him, I can tell that he has a frown on his face. Shane was actually a great guy and I have just hurt him. I have always been so rude to him, i'm surprised he even wants to talk to me.

"I'm sorry," I say under my breath not even sure I even want to be heard.

There was a long pause before I opened my mouth to repeat what I have just said. My mouth opened to repeat what i had just said, but I could't. I wasn't ready to face my mistakes.

I heard a small voice from behind me, "It's okay, i'll wait."

Shane really heard me. I Nod even thought I'm not looking at him.

"You're worth waiting for," he whispered to himself.

I'm not sure if I was meant to hear that. But I did and yes, that's my heart beating faster, yes that's a huge smile on my face, and yes those are butterflies in my stomach.

"OH MY GOD! YIKES!" I heard a high pitch screech.

I look around in search for Fey, she was no where to be found. I thought for sure it had to be her due to the fact it was so high pitch.

"HELP ME GUYS!" this time it was a different cry but was from the same direction.

"This is the day I die!" screamed the same person who yelled first.

I look over to the canoe that happened to contain Ricky and Connor in it. Both boys had managed to stand on Connor's tiny seat at the back of the canoe. They where holding each other as they shrieked and cried for help.

"What the fuck is your problem?" Kian snapped slightly laughing at there ridiculous actions.

"There is a demon in our boat, it's freaking huge!" Connor yelled out.

"Really?" Kian burst out into laughter, "You're acting this way about a stupid spider."

I laughed at there actions. Not because I think there actions are over exaggerated but because I know I would have done the same thing. I can see the little black dot from were I am and it's crawling towards the back of the canoe.

Ricky seems to notice the same thing I did as he screamed as he tried to get further back. His foot slipped slightly as he grabbed onto Connor for balance. This didn't work due to the swaying of Connor and Ricky, the canoe tipped over causing the boys to fell into the water. Both boys come up for water floating up right due to their life jackets.

The boys swim over to their canoe turning it over to get back in it. As they do, the spider somes out from under the canoe.

"THEY CAN SWIM!" Connor yelled, "I DON'T WANNA LIVE IN A WORLD WHERE THIS IS POSSIBLE."

Together, the boys splash the spider away before Ricky jumps into the canoe. He extends his arm waiting for Connor to grab it. Ricky pulls Connor into the canoe as they both got settled into there seats.

Laughter could be heard from everyone's lips except of course Ricky and Connor.

I fell bad as they are now all cold and wet, thank God they have a change into. Honestly i'm just happy that it isn't me, I don't really fell like getting soaked. I swear mother nature heard my thought and decided to wreck my life. A little drop of water lands on the tip of my nose followed by many others.

Great, it's raining. All of us begin to scream and paddle faster in the direction of our destination. After a few moments those screams I heard moments before turned into a slow giggle which developed into a loud chuckle.

I don't understand, this wasn't funny, not one bit. I didn't want to get this precious hair wet, I spend way to much time on it for it to be wreck.

"Shane hurry up and help me paddle," I yell turning and looking at him.

I think he found amusement in the fact that I didn't want to get my hair wet. Yup, his action made my once thought into realization. He took his paddle and splashed me right in the face. All i could do was look at him, I wasn't sure if I was pissed or just shocked that he would do such a thing to me. I whipped my head back around facing forward.

I took my paddle and began violently hitting the water backwards in Shane's direction. I wasn't even sure if I managed to hit him. His shrieks and small curses made it evident that I did.

"Let's get to this island, ASAP rocky," I hear Trevor Yell over all the laughter.

We finish paddling towards this so called "haunted Island" that we have to stay the night at. We were the first canoe to arrive at shore followed by what looks like everyone else. We pull all the canoes up shore with us. The trees provide a great cover from the rain as we attempt to dry off best we can.

-

After a while the rain gives up and a couple of the boys set out to find some wood to start a fire. Luckily for us, the thick tree branches of the trees ahead blocked the rain preventing the twigs and sticks from getting too wet. After they all get back and the struggles of starting the fire are over we all start to talk. I find myself sitting beside Shane with Sam on the other side of me.

Wait, where is Fey and Jc... if that little bugger skipped out on this camping experience to get lad. I'm going to have to have a serious talk to her when i see that girl.

"Does anyone know where Fey is," I find myself curious if they told anyone else about there plans.

I heard a lot of "No" and saw a lot of head shakes.

"Probably getting laid, I can tell he really digs her," Kian said earning laughs out of the majority of boys except me.

"Well, where ever they are. I hope they are safe," Connor said in a worried tone.

ya safe, I hope she is safe, if she had to be stuck with anyone of course it had to be Jc.
