Chapter 27

( Perris's P.O.V )

"Perris!" I heard Shane shout but ignored it. I heard heavy footsteps in the distance behind me and I knew he was chasing after me.

"Perris stop!" he yelled again, I spun my head around to see Shane still chasing me and quickly turned back to look in front of me.

"Perris look out!" I heard him yell again. But for what?, why the hell was he chasing me?.

A sudden screech sounded from my side as the back of a red corvette almost backed into me. I was lucky the driver saw me and didn't run me right over.

" Jesus Perris" Shane swore under his breath and I knew he was behind me now.I felt his gentle hand grab my arm to make me turn around and look at him,

" Why the hell are you running away?".

The words escaped my mouth before I could think, " Well why the hell we're you chasing me" I spat.

He sighed and blinked several times before speaking, " Because you always get yourself into trouble".

"I don't need you to protect me, I'm not a child now let go of me!" I practically shouted yanking my arm from his grasp.

Expecting him to argue back I saw a hint of hurt in his eyes . Like he actually somehow cared as he stood there watching me continue to run away to his car.

( Fey's P.O.V )

"Are you the girl..." he muttered. I looked down avoiding his deep hazel-brown eyes.

But looked over at him when he let out a deep breath. He licked his lips before he spoke, " I know you know me..."

Getting no response from me still he sighed deeply once more.

" Fey..." he breathed out, when he said my name it brought butterflies in my stomach and shivers through my body.

" Why do you care.." I muttered looking down again as tears welled in my eyes.

From the corner of my eye I could see him taken a back from my words. "What do you mean..".

" You had a new girl, and it wasn't even the end of the week!" My voice cracked from the emotions coming over me.

I was upset, I was hurt and he had no idea what it felt like to be led on.

"I can explain...I'm not that kind of person..." he muttered. I guess I had nothing to lose to let him at least explain his actions.

I sighed deeply, "Go on then".

I guess it surprised him that I was willing to let him explain so soon. He was utterly speechless as I could practically see the gears in his brain grinding of how to start his explanation.

"Um..." he let out, when suddenly a sigh of exasperation escaped his lips.

It was thoughtful how he wanted to explain by thinking this hard. I searched his face waiting for any expression when he started explaining but it never came. But soon enough his eyes lit up like a light bulb had lit on top of his head.

" You see-" but he was cut off when my door shot open and I felt a hand grasp my arm.

I glanced over shocked to see Perris. "Fey get out right now I need to talk to you" she spoke sternly.

" But-" I cut myself off. Was I actually protesting? was I actually wanting to hear Jc's explanation.

"I need you right now" she said forcefully reaching over popping down the button on my seat belt to make it come lose.
