The bright morning light glared on my face. I squinted, and looked around. I felt like I was being pulled by something, so I looked at my waist. Asa's thin arms were wrapped around me. Memories flooded my mind from the night before. I smiled to myself, but soon began to sulk. I kept thinking of him; the drunken kiss (which I had decided to let go of), his kindness, and everything.
I slowly reached out for my phone, careful not to wake Asa, and grasped it in my hand. I realized that it was turned off, so I turned it on. Clicking the home button, my screen lit up. I read the texts that settled on the phone.

I laughed to myself, and looked at him. His mouth was opened slightly, and his eyelids were shut gently. I opened my camera app and snapped a picture. It was hard to refrain from giggling, but it didn't work as well as I hoped it would.
He groggily opened his eyes, sat up slowly, and knitted his eyebrows.
"Mm.. What?" He mumbled.
"Morning, sleepy," I snickered.
"Morning," he garbled.
"So.. It's the twentieth, and I just realized I haven't done any Christmas shopping. You want to do that today?" I asked.
"Sure, let me get dressed," his morning voice deep.
"Yeah, I'm gonna go across the street and get ready, see you in thirty?"
"Okay."
And with that, I left his house. I made sure to grab my belongings before exiting. Walking across the street, I tried the door. It was unlocked. Going inside, I walked up the stairs towards my room and opened my closet. I pulled out a pair of grey skinny jeans, and before I grabbed a shirt, I decided to wear Asa's hoodie.
Getting dressed (in the image above), my phone buzzed. Asa's name glowed on my phone.
Sent at 10:13 a.m. // Asa- you ready?
I sent back 'sure' and locked my phone, putting it in my bag.

Asa and I decided to walk to the station and take the tube to get to the mall, or as Asa corrected me, shopping centre.
Eventually, we arrived. I walked into the entrance and saw a shopping cart with the little kid seats, and I hopped into one.
"Push me!" I laughed, as Asa rolled his eyes and smiled widely.
"You're absolutely insane," he said.
"I know," Asa pushed quicker, jumping on. I squealed, and he used his feet to brake. "First stop?"
"Um," I thought, "how about Alien Skin?"
[A/N: from what I googled (lol) it's like Hot Topic except not]
"Sure," he said.
Once inside, I bough Adrian and Aramis's gifts. I decided on getting Kyle something because he was one of my friends, though we weren't close. I had to beg Asa to go into Bath and Body Works and Forever 21 for Paris and Kai, but he reluctantly agreed. I went into Earthbound for Tom and got candles, because I had no idea what he would want. Asa and I made a plan to meet back in the food court while we got each other's and get Chinese food.
I looked around, but I couldn't think of a single thing he wanted. Then, it hit me. I smiled to myself, rushing to complete my thought.
Hell yeah!
-
"And, for the lady?" The Chinese lady with the name Cindy asked.
"Oh! An order of sesame chicken and white rice. And a Ribena to drink," I ordered.
"Thank you," she smiled, "please wait 15 minutes."
Asa paid (barely, we argued for a long 5 minutes) and we sat down at a table. The food court rang with voices. In this small moment of time, I got to genuinely talk to him. We just talked about our interests and got deep into conversation, soon to be ripped by the words "order sixteen, order sixteen!". Asa talked with his mouth full, and I didn't know whether to giggle, because, awh, or cringe, because, ew.
"So," he dragged out, "what'd you get me?"
"Oh, I am so not telling you," I teased.
"Come on," he smiled his perfect smile.
"No," I said playfully.
"Fine," he pouted, rice on his lip.
We talked for what seemed like hours, him getting noticed twice, and phone calls, we had a great talk. I felt like I finally had a best friend. That warm feeling, it's so unexplainable. It feels like fireworks in your tummy, your cheeks hurt from smiling, and your mind keeps telling your mouth to shut up because it's been rampaging through words. With him, it didn't matter if I had food all over the place or if I snorted when I laughed, we would just be weird together. I mean, I explain this all the time, but it's so true.
We began to clean up, saving nothing. Eventually, I begged enough to convince him to push me in a shopping cart once again. I shouldn't have had that much fun.
