I'm not sure how long I sleep for, I don't even remember falling asleep, but the sound of the keypad unlocking and the door opening as me taking in a sharp breath as my eyes open.I sit up quickly when Bellamy charges into the room with Finn right behind him.
"Make this quick, we don't have much time." Bellamy says sharply.
"Hey," Finn comes straight to my side at the bed, his eyes wary as he crouches down.
"What?" I ask hastily, blinking to wake up more as I look between them. "Wh-what happened? Is Clarke back?"
"Last night." Bellamy nods, his voice dark. "And the Grounders named their price."
"Bellamy, wait outside." Finn tells him, not taking his eyes off me as he grasps my hand.
"Finn, we don't have time—"
"Get out. Give me two minutes." Finn glares over his shoulder and gives him a curt nod. Bellamy clenches his jaw, but leaves, pulling the door closed behind him.
"Finn," I whisper, my eyes wide as I stare at him. "What is happening?"
He takes a shaky breath as he looks back to me, his voice barely audible. "I gotta go. They want me, Chris, so I need to leave. I'm gonna run."
Because of the village. Because of what he did.
"No." I shake my head. "No—"
"I'm sorry." He shakes his head at me. "I'm so sorry, for all of it." He holds my face in his hands as my vision starts to get blurry. "I love you, alright? You're my best friend. We're family. No matter what...you remember that, okay?"
"Finn, no." The tears are streaming down my face. "No—don't say that. Don't go. We'll-we'll fix this—we will. Clarke must have a plan—"
"This is fixing it." He nods slowly. "Don't follow me." I take a sharp breath, trying not to sob. "It's not safe out there, so you stay here, Chris."
How is this happening...
"I'm going with you." I say sharply. "If they are, I am too."
"They're not." He urges. "They're getting me as far as they can, and then I'm gone. They'll come back."
"But you won't!" I snap.
"I gotta go." He whispers, his eyes searching mine. "May we meet again." He places a quick kiss to my forehead...and then he's running for the door.
"No—Finn. Finn!"
I move, grinding my teeth as I pull myself out of the bed. I stumble at the sudden impact of my weight on my leg and grab the edge of the table.
Numb—it's only a numb, dull ache that feels heavy.
It's better than before, so whatever Abby gave me must've helped.
And I'll take that.
Looking up at the door, I take a deep, shaky breath...and then move, leaving the crutches behind, but grabbing my gun. I pull open the door and limp out of the room, taking a deep breath with each step I take.
Gone—both Finn and Bellamy.
My head and eyes turn in each direction as I scan around me for anyone familiar as I make my way out to the back gate where we usually make our escape.
No one's here.
"Hey, woah—you're not supposed to be here."
