Calum's POV
Being back home was the best feeling ever. I got to show the girl I love the place I loved. Currently we were walking the beach, even though we lived in California we never went to the beach. Ana kind of hated how many people that went to the nearest beach where we lived, so I took her to the piece of beach where I knew we'd have privacy.
"I like it here." Even though it was winter in Australia Ana still was wearing a dress with a jean jacket. I of course had on jeans, a long sleeve and leather jacket.
"Are you still not cold at all babe?" She looked at me like I was crazy, but all my life I had dreaded June, July and August, because it was cold.
"Do you believe this is cold?" I nodded making her laugh. "Try below zero weather."
"No thank you." I smiled at her as she took of her shoes and walked with her feet in the water. Most people I knew around here wouldn't touch the water if it was winter especially as the sunset and it got even cooler. Ana however was so different. I always forgot that she grew up in all kinds of weather.
"Calum, you're no fun. Why am I in Australia if I can't have fun at the beach?" She pouted making me chuckle.
"To be where I grew up and learn about the place I love." I smiled making her roll her eyes and walk to me wrapping her arms around my neck.
"I love you, teach me about where you grew up tomorrow I'm tired now." I laughed as her mood went from bright and happy to droopy and tired. I squatted down to let her know she could get on my back and she did. My house wasn't far so I walked back. My parents were already in bed and Mali wouldn't be in town till tomorrow. By the time I made it in my old room I could hear Ana's snores in my ear. I smiled as I laid her down excited to show her more of the town tomorrow.
.
"You ready love?" I knocked on the door and Ana walked out wearing a long sleeve red dress that hit her knees. I chuckled a little at just how use to the chilly weather she was, but took her hand and walked down to the kitchen for lunch with my parents.
"Oh, Ana dear how have you been?" My mom asked as we sat down. We still had to tell them everything that had happened this summer.
"Oh, I'm great." She sat her hand on my thigh and smiled at me. "But we have news for you, quite a bit."
"I'm ready. I hope everything is okay." My mom seemed concerned which made Ana giggle.
"We're engaged..." I started and looked at Ana.
"And pregnant."
"Who's pregnant?" In walked Mali with her suitcases and yelped when she saw us. Not I didn't tell her we were coming. She hugged me and then Ana then my mom was jealous so she got a hug too. "So you guys are going to have a little Hood?"
"Yeah." I grinned making Mali roll her eyes. "We're also engaged."
"Oh how did you do it baby brother?"
"Oh that's an awkward story." Ana blushed making the comment then smiled. "You see I thought I found the ring and then told Calum yes without him asking. It wasn't the ring, but he had a ring, just in his desk not guitar case."
"You guys have such an awkward relationship." Mali rolled her eyes, but I pouted.
"We're just too adorable." I said and then noticed the time. "C'mon babe let's hit the town before it gets too late and cold."
"Okay Calum." Ana sighed. I knew she wanted to hang out with my family, but I wanted to take her out and about.
.
"So, that's where all your records come from?" I nodded as we walked out of DARE an old record shop. I had a fall out Boy record in my bag as we walked the streets and stopped to get coffee in Starbucks. Then I saw her...
"Calum?" Instead of her old blonde hair it was now light blue, and instead of being tossed down her back it was cropped and wavy at her shoulders.
"April." Her green eyes really stood out against her pale skin as she stood behind the counter ready to take our order. "Umm I'd like a Grande caramel frappe."
"Hi, I'm Ana, I'll have a Venti Caramel macchiato iced." She smiled and April furrowed her eyebrows and there was an awkward silence.
"Will that be all for you two?" She finally asked and I nodded. "$8.25."
I went to pull out money, but Ana had her gold card out and swiped it. "Have to get the rewards babe."
"Shouldn't have even tried." I shook my head laughing and I noticed April watching us as she made our drinks. The place was empty so I grabbed Ana's hand and sat us at a small table.
"Who is she?" Ana whispered making me sigh running a hand through my hair.
"Ana, I just want to enjoy this time." I mumbled back.
"Cal." She whined frowning.
"Why don't you tell her Cal?" Obviously April had heard us and I ran my fingers through my hair.
"She's just an ex." I looked out the window and April laughed.
"He told me he loved me and then got on a plane to California." I looked at my lap and then got the courage to look at Ana who was just smiling.
"I mean there's no big deal, we have past lives that we weren't a part of. I'm kind of happy that I've met another girl that wasn't just sex. And if she thinks that it gets to me oh well. I love you and you love me Calum." I looked to April who was so shocked, but honestly I wasn't Ana was always confident in herself and positive about all situations, even ones I found awkward.
