Calum's POV
We had been home for a few months now, it was approaching the end of September making Anastasia about 26 weeks pregnant and ending her second trimester. We were currently headed to the doctor to check up on our baby and maybe finally tell the sex. We hadn't had luck yet, Dr. Hue said that the baby was being shy and Ana and I were a bit upset.
Ana however was starting to really show. Her stomach was a lot bigger but it was cute, and her boobs that were already big were huge. Her feet had been swelling lately and hurting making her want to stay in bed if not at work.
She had also been eating like crazy and all different kinds of things she'd never eat before. Cherries and strawberries being the biggest cravings. It was so weird, because her cravings were so healthy. "I just want ice cream, but the baby doesn't."
"I'm sorry babe." I said rubbing her back as we were stopped at a red light. As it turned green I noticed she had been texting someone like crazy, but shrugged it off as we made it to the doctor's office.
.
"I can't believe we still don't know the gender." I whined making Ana laugh.
"You're whining more than I do when I want food." She joked hopping in the passenger seat of my jeep still typing away on her phone. "Also it's not too bad not to know. We can get things that don't apply to gender."
"Who are you texting?" It had been on my mind and I just wanted to know, so why not be blunt about it.
"Just Troy." She shrugged looking out the passenger not telling everything. I didn't want to get in a fight so I just intertwined our hands for the rest of ride home. When we got there though she grabbed her keys and started walking out. "We need some things from the store, I'll be back."
.
I wasn't the guy to get overly jealous. When Troy tried to kiss Ana, I was calm about it, but the way she wasn't saying much in the car when usually she was a chatterbox was upsetting. I trusted Ana, but I didn't like hiding things. So, that's why I was following behind her with a car between us.
She parked across the street from her favorite small park; which nobody was usually at, but I saw a familiar tall figure sitting on the swing. I parked where I could see Ana, but she wouldn't see me. She didn't move however, she just watched.
"What the hell is going on?" I asked nobody at all. I noticed the guy in the park continuously check his phone and he finally held it to his ear. I watched Ana then as she sat her phone to the side. I knew for sure then the guy was Troy, but what the hell was he doing here?
.
Anastasia's POV
I sat across my favorite park in my car. I shouldn't be here, I knew that, but I needed to see if he was actually here. Troy had texted me this morning while in the car with Calum saying that he was in California and wanted me to be with him...
Troy:
Anastasia, I'm in California. I know in the past few months you talked about how you loved Ross Park, a small park nobody knew about and you would love to raise your kids here. I want that Ana, I want you. If somehow you have any doubts about your current spot in life, come meet me. I'll be here all night. I know you're worth more than a night, you're worth forever, but I know if you don't come tonight, you're never coming. I love you Stasia.
I kept rereading the message until he called. I then put my phone to the side. Why was I here? I didn't want anything more than I wanted Calum and this baby. But I couldn't just leave Troy waiting in a park for me all night. I sighed and climbed out of my car. I took the swing next to him with my head down.
"You came."
"Not because I want you Troy." I sighed looking at him. There was hurt written in his eyes. "Shouldn't you be in Colorado?"
"I had to see you. I had to try. I regret my mistake of six years ago. You were the best thing to ever happen to me. You were my rock Stasia."
"I'm sorry Troy. I have to leave now. I came to tell you to get up out of this swing and find the girl who is going to love you at the same time you love her. Timing was always our problem. You liked me in middle school when I didn't like you. I liked you at the end of high school when you didn't like me. Our timing was never right. It's time for us to finally get over each other. Time for us to move on forever."
"Are we still going to be friends?" Troy asked making me sigh and get up.
"Can that work? I mean it did for six years, but-"
"Stasia, don't walk out on our friendship." It was crazy to think that after years of not talking Troy wanted to be together, and then if that wasn't able to happen he wanted to be friends. I didn't say anything and walked back to my car.
"Call me when you find her. I'll make sure you get an invitation to the wedding." I shouted back to him with a small smile. I knew how much it hurt to have him walk away, I wasn't going to cause that pain to him. I got in my car and looked in my rearview when I noticed a familiar black jeep. Calum's jeep. Did he follow me? I saw him get out the car and walk to Troy who was still on the swing. I rolled my window down listening closely.
"I understand, mate. Ana is one of the best people in this world, so I'm not mad you're in love with her. I'm not mad at all honestly, she came here, because she's that person. She can't leave people in the dust. I'll make sure you're at the wedding. Just don't steal my bride." I heard Calum and Troy laugh and smiled deciding to just go home. I got home and started making spaghetti smiling when I heard the door.
"Hey, babe, at the park much?" I asked and Calum sighed.
"Yeah, so were you." He smiled coming to sit on the counter as I cooked.
"I heard you after Calum. I couldn't have picked a better guy to spend the rest of my life with." I stood on my tip toes and kissed his cheek.
"Well with the whole Troy thing I've realized we haven't even started wedding planning. I'm kind of thinking we could aim for next June or July if that is enough time." Calum smiled.
"Well we might need to wait another year on that. Just with the baby and everything."
"Whatever you want. I just want to be beside you forever."
