As the months slipped by, Advait and Shivani found themselves growing closer. Their bond deepened in the quiet moments between conversations, a connection so seamless that words became almost unnecessary. Time, with its pace, knotted their understanding of one another into something unspoken.
Meanwhile, Advait, Uday, and Shane embarked on their final year of university, the third and the last chapter of their degree journey. Shivani, too, stepped into a new chapter, beginning her second year with a renewed sense of purpose. The rhythm of campus life continued, but for this little group, every passing day carried the weight of transitions, aspirations, and the inevitability of change.
It wasn't just their day to day university life but a life which seeded their future. The disappointment of realizing that their journey has to reach its end within a year grew heavier to Advait and his friends. Advait intended to enjoy every single day, every single moment, every single minute in his university with his friends and with Shivani.
The Business Association met a few changes as the new semester kick started. The post of 'Secretary' was now called the 'President' and the 'Assistant secretary' as the 'Vice President'. Advait was elected as the President of the Business Association because of his outstanding performance and his contributions to that association, his experience in engaging in bringing up sponsors and leading as an assistant hosting major fests and much more proved his capabilities of taking up the association to the next level. Shivani on the other side became the Vice President who was chosen by their teachers and also the other members of the association which encouraged her to fly high and give her best, to see her own potential as to what height she could actually reach.
Advait, Uday and Shane also got into MIMA (Dramatics association) which is known for stand up comedy, mad ads, and dancing wearing nighties during a skit. It's not just an association for drama but also for its fun filled with Tamilish(Tamil with English) jokes. Enjoyment and uncontrollable laughter is what is embraced there all the time. This eventually led Shivani to join the same association because of her favouritism towards MIMA. She always admired guys from dramatics association ever since she was a kid. The boys of dramatics are never serious and their lives are just funny to them. She always cherished them because she knew that they would never keep things inside their hearts but stay open minded about their feelings and talk things out. Advait, Uday and Shane's characters were just perfect for this.
~ At Shivani's place~
Advait was at Shivani's house to complete their association work, to list out the participants of their upcoming event and make a document to send it to their association head, Shivani's work was to send invitations through emails to the listed colleges and check up on their sponsors. Advait was totally drained and exhausted due to work so they both decided to take a break.
It was a pleasant evening, the sun having just dipped below the horizon. The sky wore a warm orangish hue, its soft glow brushing against the stretched clouds tinged with a subtle reddish tint, creating a masterpiece of fading light.
The view was visible from Shivani's window as she opened the curtains to see the sky. The mild light hit Advait's face as he bent to see the view, his brown eyes mirroring the sight. He stretched a little, yawning as he turned to see Shivani juggling up to clear all the mess on the table.
"Shivani?" He called. "Yes" she turned her head towards the voice.
"What is that door?" He asked, pointing to that closed door in her room next to one of her windows.
"Huh?" Shivani asked, buying herself some time to process the question.
"What is inside that door? I have never seen you open it and it always remains closed. Why?"
