Q & A:
Now that it's published, will you stop posting here just so we have to pay for the book to find out what happens next? Will you take the book off Wattpad?
No, of course not! Everyone will still be able to read this, and all future chapters for free right here on Wattpad and AO3. If you like what you read, you can then buy a physical copy of the book---up to you :-) The only difference is, Wattpad and A03 will be getting my FIRST DRAFT of chapters, and the published books will be getting the FINAL DRAFT 😅
What are Loki and Y/N called now?
Due to copyright, I had to change Loki's name as well as the other characters in the book. I don't mind this too much as we really did stray from the Marvel and Norse Myths, didn't we 😅
I have named Y/N 'Meren', which I made up, because it sounds like 'wren'. She is a skinny little peasant woman who spends most days in a brown uniform so, in my head, she reminded me of the tiny brown, shy garden bird. It's simple, which suits her peasant upbringing, and sounds rather British, which I thought suits the medieval Europe style setting.
I did a survey for what to name Loki, and the name 'Lorkan' won by a landslide, probably due to its resemblance to 'Loki', which I liked. It's a short, strong, masculine name similar in style to what Odin named his children, so I think it suits the story well.
What other names will change?
Only the copyrighted ones like Odin, Frigga and Thor. They are now King Cade, Queen Lophia, and Prince Sol. Asgard is now "Velôr", the Vanir Kingdom is now "Calpurzia" and Jöttenheim is now "Hylune".
After editing, is it still the story we know and love?
Yep, just with a few spelling errors removed, the writing cleared up a bit (I did start this when I was in my teens😅) and a bit more depth added to the world, history and characters. I've changed a lot of boring exposition to dialogue scenes so there will be some extra bits you've never seen before 😁
