2nd Person POV
As you step onto campus, you overhear a group of students discussing a strange illness circulating through the school. They speak in hushed whispers, their faces filled with a mixture of concern and intrigue.
"Did you hear? Another student was sent to the nurse's office with hanahaki disease" one of them says, their voice tinged with worry.
Curiosity piqued, you approach the group of students. They are surprised at your sudden presence, but they don't make a fuss, clearly caught up in the conversation.
"Excuse me" you say, trying to sound casual. "I couldn't help but overhear. What's this about hanahaki disease?"
The students exchange glances, their expressions serious. "It's a rare illness" one of them explains. "It's said to affect only those who are deeply in love with someone who doesn't reciprocate their feelings."
Another student chimes in, their voice filled with a hint of morbid curiosity. "They say flowers start growing in the patient's lungs, and they eventually start coughing up petals. It's a slow and painful process."
You listen intently, a chill running down your spine as you hear about the disease's symptoms. Unable to contain your curiosity, you ask the group, "Why is this suddenly happening now though? Isn't this disease supposed to be a myth?"
One of the students shrugs, their expression thoughtful. "It's hard to say. Some people speculating that it's due to the increasing prevalence of one-sided love in our society. With more and more unrequited feelings, the chances of someone developing hanahaki disease increase as well."
Another student adds, their voice filled with concern, "There's also the belief that the disease is actually cursed, passed down through generations as a warning against unrequited love. Some say it's punishment for loving someone who's not meant for you."
The students continue to discuss the various theories about the disease, each one more intriguing and ominous than the last. Your mind whirls with questions and concern, realizing the gravity of the situation. Hanahaki disease has become a very real and present threat within the school, and it seems no one knows how to stop it.
"Thank you for the explanations" you say, your voice filled with a mix of concern and curiosity. "I'm going to class now. Take care."
The students nod, their expressions still serious as they wish you luck and bid you goodbye. As you make your way to your class, you can't help but feel a sense of unease, wondering how this strange disease will impact your life and the lives of those around you. The warning from the students echoes in your mind, a reminder of the fragility of love and the potential consequences of unrequited feelings.
As you enter the classroom, you take a seat, trying to focus on the math lesson being taught by the professor. However, your mind keeps drifting back to the conversation you had earlier about the hanahaki disease.
