Riya gives Nick a lesson in finding his inner strength and trusting in the Force when she disarms him and pressures him to adapt to her attacks on the fly.
The grass gently bent and swayed in the breeze. Nick held his saber tight in his hands. His stance similar to his twin's. Even though Ezra was somewhere else he and Nick shared a special bond. His red jumpsuit, fingerless gloves, and silver vest kept him warm. His sandy brown hair was accented by a red stripe. He swung his saber, the hum of the purple blade filling his ears. "Nick? Where did you get that?" a voice asked. "Oh Riya, hey." he said, greeting the dark skinned girl. Her forest tank top and sleeveless vest showing off her bionic left arm. It was something she didn't bother to hide. Her brownish red pants were tucked into her black boots. Her tool belt was the exact same color as her vest, a dark tan. Her bo-staff was slung across her back. Her black hair swayed gently in the wind, the forest green streaks making her green eyes pop. "Uh, I built, well with a little help from Master Yoda," he explained. "Oh really?" she said, raising an eyebrow. "Well sort of, I heard his voice in a jedi temple and I followed it, he gave me the crystal." He explained. "I see," riya said, holding the crystal in her hand. "How does it feel to be one of the few to wield a lightsaber?" he responded, "Uh, strong i guess, confident, powerful!" Riya hatches an idea. "Oh so you're not powerful without it?" she asked throwing the purple crystal overhand, sending it farther away from the two teens. "Hey!" He exclaimed, turning back to the smirking girl. "Why'd you do that?" He demanded. Riya tossed his saber underhand to him. "Do you still feel powerful?" She quipped. "Wha-no!" He replied. Riya quickly came back with, "No? Why not? I thought your weapon made you powerful." She advanced causing Nick to step back while she stepped forward. "Not without the cyristal!" Riya spun her staff around in her right hand. "What are you doing?" The boy nervously questioned. "Teaching you." She snapped. "Kanan never taught me like this!" Nick complained.  Lensanas replies "Good this will be a new lesson" before resuming her charge. When Nick protests "I don't have any way of defending myself!" Lensanas asks him mockingly "Don't you?" As she advances again, Nick asks "how am I supposed to concentrate on finding my crystal if you keep attacking me?!" Lensanas replies "How indeed." As she advances again she tells him, "You have other abilities than just the force, use them in combation." He catches on quick, and starts meditating in the Force, Nick dodges her staff. She spins it around in her hand, before she advances again. Once becomes several times. He manages to find his crystal. He flips it up, puts it back in the hilt and intercepts her attack. As the two meet, Lensanas observes, "So needed your weapon after all." Nick replies, "No I learned that if I focus, I can evade to you without it." When lensanas asks "They why did you get your crystal back?" Putting a hand on his and giving a closed eyed smile Nick jokes Because I was getting tired." The two then exchange laughs. It was good for both of them to laugh, they were only teammates but they are also good friends.
