"Do we seriously have to go to this party?" Greg Stalls asked.
"Yes, we do," Stella Carter replied.
"We have to go to at least one high school party, and seeing as this is the graduation after party, it's our last hope," Julia Morton commented.
"Besides, we need to get people to sign our year book," Lindsay Parker added her two cents.
"You just mean Tyler Wilson," Greg pointed out.
Smiling slightly, Lindsay didn't respond to her friend's prodding as she and her three best friends strolled down the walk way to the abandon warehouse which hosted all of Willman High School's previous After Graduation parties.
Though they had just graduated a mere four hours ago, this was the first, and last, party they'd ever attend. Their small town was such that no one could really crash a party, and one could not get in without an invitation. Trust her; they'd try enough times to know this.
The only parties worth going to were the ones thrown by the populars, and they were as exclusive as they were frequent, but seeing as this was a party for the graduating class, everyone was invited, even her group of friends.
They were all excited to be going, well not Greg, but he was like an overprotective big brother to all of them, and so he tagged along. He’d bitch and moan about it, but Lindsay knew that he’d do anything for them, since they all became fast friends on the very first day of high school.
All she was concerned with right now, though, was for Tyler Wilson to sign her year book. Just thinking about it made butterflies flutter in her stomach.
They finally reached the party and the four friends stood huddled together as they took in the party scene. There was a campfire in the middle of an open space, speakers were placed under an old tree, people were dancing, and cups were raised above them in their hands. Everyone was laughing, and gaffing and enjoying the ending of an era.
But Lindsay’s eyes sought only one person, and she found him with his group at the corner by the bar. She was suddenly afraid to approach him. She’s never actually talked to him before. Well, she’s never talked to any of the other persons outside her group of friends, so she didn’t exactly know what to say to him.
Lindsay, and her friends Stella, Greg and Julia were the outcasts. They didn’t really fit in anywhere, though they didn’t really try to. No one really knew them, or could remember their names, but that was fine, really. They didn't care. High school was over. Time to put the past behind her and move on to college; after she got Tyler to sign her year book, of course!
“There he is! Go, get him to sign and come back here so we can go!” Greg shrieked.
The three girls turned and threw him a speculative look.
“What? Isn’t that why we’re here? I really can’t stand how the three of you gush over him, like he’s God gift to women,” he defended.
“Tyler Wilson is God’s gift to out small town stock,” Stella pointed out, “He’s the most gorgeous creature to ever lay eyes on. He’s sweet, funny, and loyal and captain of the school’s wrestling team. Yup, he’s a gift with his light brown eyes, and –“
“How do you know he’s loyal? You don’t even know him,” Greg told them, quickly losing his patience at how much they all worship this guy.
“He’s had the same girlfriend throughout high school, didn’t he?” Lindsay answered.
