Chapter 2:
He Who Must NEVER Be Named!
Lynn went through her morning in robot mode. She was there physically, and completed all her tasks, but her mind was racing, as she went over the scene from the flower shop.
By lunch, she was ready to blow. She needed to tell the others about her run in with ‘he who must never be named’. At 11:30, Lynn left the studio and headed to pick up Stella. This was what she needed, some normalcy in her life.
When she reached Stella’s place, she was still in a photo shoot, so Lynn waited in her office. More like paced her office, biting her nails. If Julia saw her, she’d get a slap on the wrist and not a gentle one either, a stinging, tear jerker. Julia hated when people bit their nails. But Lynn was too anxious to care about her friend’s reaction right now. He who must never be named was back.
Tyler Wilson... Tyler Wilson... Lynn drew in a deep breath and released it slowly. Ten years may have changed her physical appearance, but ten years did nothing much to him. And her stupid heart began to flutter whenever she thought about him. What the hell was wrong with her?? The guy was a supernova jerk!
A hot, supernova jerk, but still a jerk none the less. Any attraction she felt for him in that super small timeframe from a minute ago was squashed when the pain and humiliation from all those years ago came rushing back to her.
Just like high school, this meeting with he who must never be named is a passing... a bump in the road. She’ll never see him again, so no need to pay him any attention. She’ll tell the gang, and they’ll have a good laugh and forget all about it.
She sat down in Stella’s chair behind her desk and started twirling around in it. Childish of her, but she hoped that the dizziness she felt would take her mind off of he must never be named. But when her head started spinning, Lynn regretted her decision to spin in the chair. She stopped it and braced back in the chair and placed her feet on the desk, closed her eyes and allowed her surrounding to stop spinning.
It was still spinning when she heard a knock at the office door, “Stella Cater?” A voiced asked from the opened door.
Her eyes flew open. No! It couldn’t be! Not him...
Turning she saw that it could be, and when she tried to move, somehow her spinning head messed up the signal to her limbs and she pushed back instead of pulling forward and she ended up falling, chair and all, with a loud thud.
She landed on her back, which was supported by the chair, and her feet ended up in the air, suspended by the chair seat.
“Whoa, there, are you okay?” Tyler Wilson asked coming to help her up.
Reluctantly, Lynn accepted his hand to pull her up, but she still felt a little dizzy and the blood was flowing back to her head making her fall forward into his embrace when he tried to steady her.
“Easy there, I got you,” he soothed.
Lynn looked up at him, and for a second revelled at being in his arms, and then her mind cleared and she remembered that he was Tyler Wilson!
Clearing her throat, Lynn pulled out of his embrace and stepped back.
“Wait! I know you,” he told her.
