SO! Soul Transference is the idea that Soul Power can be moved and used like electricity. It can be transferred to power weapons, and it can be used to help assist someone with low Soul.

Soul Transference is also what helps Soul Coping. Instead of excess Soul Power being bottled up in the body after severe trauma, it spreads out and uses an outlet to prevent bottling and possible Overflow.

Soul Mates help each other by exchanging Soul Power to each other and using each other as an outlet. They can feel each other's emotions and thoughts as a way to use up their Soul.

Spirit Animals use animals as an outlet to give the animals, which have low Soul, extra Soul Power. This is how the Spirit Animals can live longer than most and can feel the Soul Soldiers emotions.

Soul Mothers are the most extreme cases of Soul Transference in which they MAKE the outlet. The children are born with the need to take as much Soul Power from their parents in order to survive on their own. So newborns are not allowed to leave their Soul Mother's side until a few months. This also means that the parents and children are very sensitive to each other's emotions and also can use certain skills that their parents equipped Soul-wise.

This would explain how the children were able to sense physically the oncoming group of monsters, and also are more in control of their Souls, regardless of how powerful it is.

On to the chapter!

Oscar's Pov:

"Hey Al, do you have any Nemos?" Al looked at Samuel with confusion.

"Okay first off, it's clownfish not Nemos. Also no, I don't have those." Samuel sighed and picked up a card from the deck.

"Kid," Malachi leaned towards Al. "Was that really necessary? It's just a card game." Al gave him a side eye and reorganized his deck.

"For me it is necessary. Nemo is the name of a clownfish, not the actual classification. So the proper terminology is clownfish." Malachi raised both his hands in defeat and looked back to his own cards.

We've all been waiting for Mincy, grandpa, Russel and Uncle Aussie to come back. Given how long they've been gone it was pretty clear that the monsters were at our house. As a way to pass the time, some of us decided to take out card games to ease our minds. I was playing Go Fish with Al, Malachi, Ita, Taylor, and Estelle who was Russel's little sister.

There was clambering and chatter from outside the ballroom. All heads turned towards the noise as it got louder. The large doors swung open to show several familiar furry friends and friendly faces.

"Rooster!!" Opal squealed.

"Bingo!!" Petra ran towards the large Saint Bernard. All of us kids ran to the pets we feared we might not ever see again. Sean knelt down and hugged his cat Ophelia close to him. The little kids were hugging Rooster, and the older kids were hugging Bingo.

"Hey, don't forget about me you guys!"

"Uncle Tanner!!" He was being held up by both Russel and Uncle Aussie. Pearl and Zoe ran and hugged his legs. I couldn't help but notice how hurt he was, and...

"Where's Uncle Topher?" I stepped closer to him. He winced and looked away with a pained look.

"The monsters took him." Grandpa explained. "They also... they..."

"They took Iggy and Kai." Mincy walked in holding Willow. Her eyes were rimmed red and had bags under them. The wind was knocked out of me. Iggy and Kai? Now three of my siblings are taken?

"Oh- oh no..." Malachi raised his hand over his mouth. Nekomi gasped and her eyes were wide. Some others were gasped and murmured. Mémé had crumpled to the ground and was curled into a ball sobbing violently. Grandpa ran over to Mémé and hugged her tightly and rocking her back and forth.
