Gaara's P.O.V
My eyes opened to see bright blue sky. There were just a few clouds in the sky.
' How am I alive? Where is Crystal? Is she ok? '
Naruto's face came into my field of vision. He was smiling. I sat up slowly in shock to see many people standing around me. People from my village, they were all cheering.
' What is going on? '
Naruto: " Glad to see you alive again, Gaara. "
I stared at him, my mouth slightly ajar.
Naruto: " Crystal's going to be so happy. Hey, where is she anyway? "
He stood up and looked behind me. Painfully I made my body turn from where I was sitting to see Crystal laying on her side.
Naruto: " Oy, sis!! Gaara's ok, just like I told you. Hey, you sleeping or something? "
: " She is in need of more help than me Naruto. "
Naruto: " Huh? "
: " She is not breathing. "
I could see a little trail of blood dripping down her chin.
Sakura, who I just noticed was here, rushed over to Crystal. Sakura's hands glowed green as she turned Crystal onto her back, placing her own hands on Crystal's chest.
Sakura: " Gaara's right and she has internal bleeding! We need to get her to the hospital now! "
Temari pushed her way past the crowd and carefully picked Crystal up. Sakura nodded to her and both of them took off running.
Naruto came over to me, pulled one of my arms around his neck and put one of his arms around my waist, pulling me up from the ground.
Naruto: " Don't worry Gaara. Sakura is an awesome medical ninja. She can heal Crystal. "
We made our way back towards the village. The closer we got, the more pain in my chest I felt.
I whispered to Naruto " I need to be by Crystal. "
Naruto glanced down at me: " I know man, I know. "
I can't tell how long it took us to reach the village. It could have been just a few minutes or a few hours. The sand was the only thing I saw, but Crystal was the only thing on my mind.
' Why do I keep thinking of her? Why do I feel sad, when she is gone from my side? '
The sound of cheering made me look up. We were at the gates and it looked like everyone who hadn't walked with us from the village was standing here now.
' Are they all happy that I'm alive? '
: " Kuncuro. "
I didn't even get to say anything else. My brother was quickly in front of me moving people to the side, clearing a path.
Kuncuro: " Come on people, move it. The Kasihage needs some rest. Clear a path for him. "
Naruto helped me walk all the way to the hospital and into Crystal's room. I sat in a chair that was close to her bedside.
Sakura: " She had a lot of internal damage and internal bleeding. I have healed all of her injuries but she hasn't woken up yet and it's possible she won't wake up for a couple of weeks. "
' Was she really in that bad of condition? Will she be ok? '
: " Thank you Sakura. "
She nodded and said " Will be leaving now. "
Naruto: " But why?! We should.."
Sakura stomped over to him and pulled him into a choke hold.
Sakura: " See you later Gaara. "
I watched as she dragged him out of the room. I sighed.
Crystal didn't look hurt or sick. There were no bandages or stiches. Her breathing was slow and steady. She seemed to just be in a peaceful sleep.
( days have gone by )
' Why hasn't she woken up yet? '
I haven't left this room in days. I just can't. I don't know why, but I can not leave Crystal's side.
Both of my siblings have come in and tried to get me back to work. They said when she woke up she would diffidently ask to see me.
( Another week has gone by )
In the middle of the afternoon, Temari entered the room. She walked over and sat down next to me. For a few minutes the only sound was the constant beeping of the heart monitor.
: " Temari, why do I feel this way? "
Temari: " How do you feel? "
: " I feel like a part of me is missing. Why can't I make myself leave her side? "
Temari: " Where do you feel like you're missing something? "
I put my hand up to my chest. Where my heart was. "
Temari: " Gaara, I think you're in love. "
' Love? Am i really capable of love? '
I looked down at Crystal's sleeping form.
' Yes, if it is for her. I can love. '
