Gaara's P.O.V
It's been 2 months since Crystal was put in the hospital and she still hasn't even woken up once. I wonder if there is something still hurt?
Not once have i left this room. Temari brings food to me occasionally and Kuncuro brings me my paper work. All i hear is the heart monitor, but i want to hear her voice. I want her to tell me it's alright. To tell me i am not a monster. That she will never run aways from me. Even for her to call me teddy bear again.
: " Please wake up. "
Crystal flinched then bolted upright. She sat there, staring straight forward.
I very slowly stood up. I didn't want to startle her. She seemed scared and tense. Suddenly she turned her head in my direction. I froze.
Crystal very quietly asked " Am i dead? "
I shook my head and wrapped my arms around her. I could feel her shaking.
: " Why are you shaking? "
Crystal: " Because i'm scared. "
: " You shouldn't be. "
Crystal: " Why? "
: " Because i'm here. "
We were silent for awhile. I felt the piece of me that was missing, wasn't gone anymore. I felt happy again.
I let go of Crystal and stood back a bit.
Crystal: " You sure i'm not dead? "
: " Yes. "
Crystal: " Then why are you smiling? "
' I'm smiling? ': " Because i finally have a reason to. "
Crystal tilted her head: " And that reason is? "
: " Because i....."
Crystal: " Because you? "
' How do i do this? I don't want to mess this up. '
Crystal held out her arms like a small child: " Come here. "
Stepping forward again i brought my arms around her. This time she was hugging me back.
Crystal: " Whatever it is, you know i would never run away from my teddy bear. "
: " I love you. "
Silence filled the room.
: " You made me forget about the monster inside me. When your gone i feel like a piece of me is missing. You make me feel...."
Crystal: " What do you feel Gaara? " She pulled back from me and stared into my eyes. The loneliness that once was so evident in her eyes was now replaced with happiness and hope.
: " Your make me feel like i am loved. "
She smiled: " You better feel loved cause i love you to. "
Her smile, it brings a warmth into my heart. She has melted away many layers of the cold ice that once held it. I set my forehead on her's.
: " I will always protect you. "
She moved her head up making our lips connect. I didn't know what to do, but i didn't want it to stop either. Crystal leaned back to look at me. I could only stand there and blink.
Crystal: " Do you not know how to kiss, Gaara? "
: " Is that what that was? "
Crystal: " Yes, that was a kiss. "
: " Could....could i have another one? "
She laughed, but closed the gap between us and kissed me again.
