Jennie POV
As Lisa walked into the living room, freshly dressed in the sweatpants and oversized t-shirt I had given her, she was still drying her damp hair with a towel. Her smirk hadn't disappeared—it had only grown more pronounced, and the mischievous glint in her eyes told me she was about to say something that would make me regret ever handing her clothes.
"You know," she began casually, flopping down on the couch beside me, "you didn't have to look that hard. I would've handed you the full view if you'd asked nicely."
I blinked, my mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water. "I wasn't looking!"
Her smirk deepened. "Oh, you weren't? My bad, then. Must've imagined the way your eyes practically glued themselves to me." She tilted her head innocently, but her voice was dripping with teasing.
I shoved her arm, trying to ignore how solid it felt under my hand. "Stop it, Lisa."
"Stop what?" she said, feigning cluelessness. "I'm just saying, next time you don't have to knock so timidly. Just barge right in. It's not like I'd mind."
"Lisa!" I shrieked, my face heating up to levels that felt borderline dangerous.
She chuckled, leaning back against the couch and crossing her arms over her chest. Her shirt shifted slightly, giving me a glimpse of her collarbones, which did nothing to help my embarrassment—or my wandering thoughts.
"I'm just teasing, babe," she said, her voice softening slightly.
The casual use of "babe" didn't escape me, and I glanced at her with wide eyes. She noticed, of course, and leaned in closer, her voice dropping to a lower, more intimate tone.
"Why so red, Jennie? What's going on in that pretty little head of yours?"
"Nothing!" I squeaked, scooting an inch away from her, though the movement only made her grin wider.
"Oh, really? Because you're acting like I caught you doing something naughty."
"I wasn't doing anything!"
"Not yet," she quipped, her voice laced with playful innuendo.
I threw a pillow at her face, desperate to break the tension. "You're impossible!"
Lisa caught the pillow with ease, laughing heartily. "Alright, alright. I'll stop... for now."
She leaned back again, her eyes settling on me with a mixture of amusement and something else—something deeper that made my heart flutter.
"Although," she added after a beat, "you can't blame me for teasing when you were clearly checking me out."
I groaned, covering my face with my hands. "Can we talk about something else, please?"
Lisa didn't answer immediately. Instead, she shifted closer, her knee brushing against mine. When I peeked through my fingers, she was watching me intently, her expression softer now but no less intense.
"You know," she said quietly, "it's kind of cute how flustered you get. I mean, here I am trying to court you, and you're out here acting like I'm the one with the upper hand."
"You are the one with the upper hand!" I shot back, lowering my hands from my face.
Lisa grinned, her teeth sinking into her bottom lip for a moment as if trying to contain her amusement. "Oh, am I? Then why do I feel like I'm the one losing control every time I'm around you?"
That caught me off guard, and for a moment, I could only stare at her. The playful teasing was still there in her tone, but there was a raw honesty underneath it that left me breathless.
