Lisa's POV
The soft morning light filtered through the curtains, painting the room in a warm glow. I blinked a few times, adjusting to the brightness as I stretched. Jennie's arm was draped across my waist, her face nestled into the crook of my neck.
I glanced down at her, still fast asleep, her breathing slow and even. Her lips were slightly parted, and a few strands of hair fell over her face. She looked so peaceful, so...perfect.
Carefully, I shifted, trying not to wake her as I reached for my phone on the nightstand. There were a few work emails waiting for me, but I ignored them for now. This moment with Jennie was far more important.
After replying to a quick text from Tzuyu about the meeting with JGCorp, I placed my phone back down and turned my attention to Jennie. She stirred slightly, her fingers curling into the fabric of my shirt.
"Morning, sleepyhead," I murmured softly, brushing a strand of hair away from her face.
She groaned lightly, nuzzling closer. "Too early," she mumbled, her voice thick with sleep.
I chuckled, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "It's not that early. Besides, don't you have a busy day ahead?"
Her eyes fluttered open slowly, and she looked up at me with a lazy smile. "Not busy enough to miss this," she said, snuggling back into me.
God, she was adorable.
"Hmm, tempting," I teased, running my fingers through her hair. "But if we stay like this all day, I'm not sure you'll get much done."
She smirked, her eyes twinkling mischievously. "That's not a bad thing."
I laughed softly, wrapping my arms around her. "You're impossible, you know that?"
"And yet, here you are," she replied with a grin, echoing my words from last night.
I rolled us slightly so I could hover above her, my face just inches from hers. "Here I am," I agreed, leaning down to kiss her gently.
Her hands slid up to my neck, pulling me closer as she deepened the kiss. For a moment, it felt like the world outside didn't exist—just us, tangled together in this little bubble of warmth and comfort.
When we finally broke apart, she looked up at me, her expression soft. "I need to tell you something," she said quietly.
I tilted my head, brushing my thumb along her cheek. "What is it?"
She hesitated for a moment before taking a deep breath. "I have to travel to Paris tomorrow for a work trip."
Paris? That was sudden.
"For how long?" I asked, keeping my tone neutral even though I felt a pang of disappointment.
"Just a few days," she said quickly, her hand sliding down to rest on my chest. "It's for a campaign meeting. I didn't know until last night, or I would've told you sooner."
I nodded, trying to hide the slight ache in my chest at the thought of not seeing her for a few days. "That's okay. Work's important."
Her brows furrowed slightly as she studied my face. "You sure you're okay with it?"
I leaned down to kiss the tip of her nose. "Of course, Jen. I'll miss you like crazy, but I know you'll crush it over there."
She smiled softly, relaxing under my touch. "I'll miss you too."
"Just promise me one thing," I said, my tone teasing.
"What's that?"
"Don't fall in love with Paris more than me," I said with a playful grin.
