Story Time
Me: *Looks at phone* You're so beautiful.
Mom: Niall?
Me: Yes, Niall.
I laughed.
----
Pulling up to the foster agency I sit frozen in my seat. "Y/n, are you ready?"
My eyes move from the building to Niall and grasp his hand. "What if they don't like us?"
He laughs slightly bringing my knuckles to his lips. "They like me, okay? And if they like me than they'll like you, I promise." I nod nervously and retrieve my hand from his, opening the car door and getting out. "Just relax." He whispers and grabs my hand in his once more.
Once in the building a lady that looked to be in her fifties walked up to us; a soft smile upon her features. "Niall, it's a surprise to see you here this late in the day," She says and looks at me. "This must be the lovely y/n, I've heard a lot about you."
I laugh nervously and hold out my hand. "Good things I hope."
"Course," She smiles again. "Were you here to see Abel and Ashton? They've been asking for you since you left this morning. Miss Sherly when's Niall coming back?" She imitates.
I look over and see Niall grinning towards two doors. "They're in there," He whispers and pulls me towards it. "I can't wait for you to meet them. They've been waiting to meet you for weeks."
I nod and let him guide me into the small playroom for all the kids. He immediately spots who he's looking for and pulls me along with him to a small circular table with two small children occupying two of the six seats. "Abel." Niall says, dropping my hand and picking up the small boy once he turns around.
"You're back," The small brunette boy giggles, grabbing the back of Niall's neck and pulling him in for a hug. "We missed you." By now his brother was standing, his small arms wrapped around Niall's left leg.
"Do you have to go again?" Ashton asks, moving his blonde hair away from his forehead
"Can you stay with us tonight?"
Niall's eyes shown remorse as he picks up Ashton as well. "Guys I want you to meet someone, this is my fiancé Y/n. Y/n these are the twins, Ashton and Abel."
"Hi," Ashton whispers, reaching his hands out towards me. I grab his, pulling him on to my hip. "Are you going to be my new mommy?"
I stare at him, feeling tears start to swell in the corners of my eyes. Using my free hand I wipe them away. "Niall," I whisper, he looks up. "Go sign the papers," He smiles. "We're taking them home."
Ashton and Abel's smiles grew wide as they wiggled from our grasps. They both cheered and grabbed my hands pulling me towards their bunks. Niall struts off towards the front desk as I sit on Ashton's bed, while him and his brother pack their bags.
"Niall told me 'bout you," Abel says, pulling a piece of paper out from underneath his pillow. "He said your favorite color is blue, so I drew you a picture." He giggles, handing the drawing over.
On the paper there's two small children and two adults. The male adult is dressed in all green and is holding what looks like a guitar, standing next to a young boy, dressed in orange. Niall.
The adult female, which I'm quick to assume is me due to all the blue, is standing beside a smaller boy, who's dolled up in a purple outfit.
"Thank you Abel," I whisper, and look up. He gives a toothy smile and picks up a pack of crayon's, throwing them into his bag as well. "This is wonderful, I'll hang it on the fridge when we get home."
"When Niall comes back are we going to go to your house?" Ashton asks and pushes her bag on to the ground.
I think for a moment. "We aren't going to go straight home." I mumble.
"Why not?"
Dumbfounded I grip the sides of the mattress. I'm definitely not going to tell two, five year olds that a crazy lady's trying to steal unborn baby. "We're renovating your bedrooms. They aren't quite done yet." I say.
"I get my own room?" Abel asks excitedly. "With my own toys and stuff?"
"Correct handsome, do you have everything you need? I don't want you forgetting anything."
They both look around, saying they've got everything. I grab both of their bags and show them which way to go. "Niall should be just up ahead..."
We notice Niall standing at the front desk, signing the last stack of papers. "Everything good?" I ask.
He nods and points to the lady we spoke to earlier. "She's going to grab a couple booster seat's. Help her maybe?"
I nod and grab the seats from Shirley. "Thanks, I knew we were forgetting something. I guess all the excitement just went straight to my head."
