Chapter 16: Promise Ring

I opened the door, and there was Lee Know hyung, arms crossed and eyebrows raised.

"What do you think you're doing?" he asked.

"Nothing," I replied as I marched towards the kitchen to get some water. Just as I arrived in the kitchen, I saw Han sitting at the island counter, raising an eyebrow at me. He was obviously teasing me—seriously!

"Stop that," I said.

He laughed.

"Guys, come on. Movie marathon, remember?" Chan hyung said as he peeked through the kitchen door. Han immediately pulled me into the living room, and I just went along with it.

When we arrived in the living room, almost everyone was already settled in. Even Lee Know hyung was lounging on the sofa on the floor, munching on popcorn. Seungmin and I.N were comfortably sitting on the floor, while Chan and Changbin hyung were lying down, with Chan's hand resting on I.N's head. I scanned the room for a spot, and my eyes met Hyunjin's.

"Come here, baby," he mouthed, tapping the space next to him on the sofa. He was sitting at the end. I immediately understood what he meant, so I hurried over to him and eased myself onto the sofa, lying down while he sat up. I used his thighs as a makeshift pillow.

I smiled secretly because it felt like every day I saw a different version of Hwang Hyunjin. It felt nice because he only showed this side of himself to me. He gently stroked my hair while we both focused on the screen.

I looked up at him.

"Hmm," he hummed, sensing my gaze.

"Nothing," I quickly shook my head.

I casually, took his hand that was stroking my hair, clasped it with mine, and brought it to my lips to kiss his knuckles, lingering there for a moment. He stared at me, clearly not expecting me to do that.

"Such a flirt," someone commented.

I noticed I.N rolling his eyes while shaking his head.

Clearing my throat, I quickly released Hyunjin's hand, feeling a bit embarrassed by what I had done. I suddenly felt so clingy towards him.

I was a bit surprised when he suddenly took my hand; we're holding hands right now while watching.

While my eyes were focused on what we were watching, I felt something cold and metal on my right hand. I saw Hyunjin casually slide a silver ring onto my ring finger. My eyes widened, and I gently pulled my hand back to check if I was seeing correctly.

"Is this a Cartier ring?!" I gasped.

"Yup, I bought it last week," he said casually.

I have the black one

He showed me his fingers

He gently took my hands again and brushed over the ring he placed on my finger. He suddenly spoke.

"I'm not good at showing my affection for you, but I assure you that my feelings for you are genuine. Thank you for being my ball of sunshine; having you in my life is the best feeling ever. I can't imagine how much I love having your presence around me. Thank you, my ai."

I bit my lip at his unexpected words.

Seriously, hyung, are you proposing right now to Felix hyung? I.N commented out of nowhere, he's smirking like an idiot.

Lee Know hyung snapped his head toward our direction.

Before he could react, I interjected.

"Chill, hyung!

It's a promise ring."
