The Chance Encounter

Part twenty-four

Emma’s POV

It’s been two months since the wedding. Everyone has settled in. The Kingdom is back in order. It’s been peaceful and quiet, while Regina and I get to enjoy the honeymoon phase of our marriage.

We both have enjoyed every moment spent together since the day we met. Now we’re ready to expand our family. We approached Tinkerbell with this topic to see if she could give us some guidance and let us know if it would be possible to conceive. She’s excited that we are wanting to move forward with having a baby, she just didn’t have the answers to help us. However, she did point us in the direction of meeting the Blue Fairy and that she might have some answers for us.

After meeting with the Blue Fairy, she said that there’s a stone podium in a magic cave we need to get to. We would need to start at my home village, we have to go towards Red’s, and cross the Troll Bridge where my parents fought off the trolls. Once we cross, we need to follow the glowing mushrooms into the Dark Forest.

She says, “Trust me, they light the way. Deep in the forest, you’ll find a stone archway with runes. It’s like one of Rumplestiltskins’ portals. Pass through the archway, and you’ll see the cave entrance with a stone podium. It’s misty, but you’ll know you’re there when you hear the water and see the fireflies.”

We set out for our journey to find the cave. It was creepy being out there at night. The place is dark, humid and smelling very green, but we manage to find the location.

Once we get there, there’s two sides we have to follow. One side is for the person who would carry the baby. The other side is for the spouse. Regina and I decided that I would be the one to carry. If in the future we’re able to have another child, she will carry the baby. Once we get to where we need to be, we both make our wish for a child, and then sacrifice some of our blood.

After we get back from our journey, we return back to the castle and invite Red, Dorothy, my Mom, Dad, Edward and Charles.

When everyone shows up, we move into the dining area. The servers come out and pour wine, along with bringing out some crackers, cheese and fruit to pair with our drinks.

I look at Regina and give her a nod so she can make the announcement.

“Everyone, we wanted to share some news.” They all stop their conversations and look in our direction. “Today, we met with the Blue Fairy. Emma and I have been thoroughly discussing the dynamic of our family and decided we’d like to expand.” Eyebrows begin to raise as they intently listen for her to continue. “The Blue Fairy has provided us with a miracle. We wanted you all to be the first to know that we’ll be able to have a biological child together. Emma will be carrying our baby pretty soon.”

The excitement is very apparent as everyone cheers and comes up to us to give us hugs and congratulate us on our miracle.
