Emma’s POV

The morning sun bathed the village as I sat beside Regina in our carriage. The roads were filled with cheer from the citizens showing their support for us. My heart raced with a mix of nerves and happiness as today was my coronation.

As we reached the Cathedral, I took a deep breath and looked at Regina who gave me a reassuring glance. The grand doors open and we are being greeted by high ranking officials, even those from neighboring Kingdoms. The Archbishops’ voice echoes through the Cathedral as he presents me to the villages, guards, nobles and citizens from the neighboring Kingdoms, and of course our friends and family.

“Do you recognize and accept Emma as your queen?” The response was almost overwhelmingly full of enthusiastic cheers, which helped lessen the nervousness that I was feeling. I knew that I was wanted here. I smiled as my eyes met with Regina’s, who was standing proudly at my side. Stepping forward, I took my oath that I had practiced so many times.

“I, Emma, promise to support Queen Regina, uphold the laws of the land, and serve the realm justly and faithfully.” Thankfully, my voice stayed steady, calm and full of determination as the cheers scattered through the cathedral.

Next came the investiture. I was presented with a coronet and scepter, a sign of my new life and responsibilities. The Archbishop placed the coronet on my head and the crowd erupted in applause. I felt a surge of pride and gratitude, knowing I was now officially Regina’s Queen. Nobles and high ranking officials came forward to pay their respect by kneeling before me and swearing their loyalty. Regina watched with pride, her eyes shining with love and support.

The communion service that followed was a moment of deep reflection, reinforcing the importance of my new job. As the ceremony ended, Regina and I left the Cathedral cheers of the crowd ringing in our ears. The day ended with a magnificent banquet at our palace. The halls were filled with laughter, music and the clinking of glasses as we celebrated with our guests and family. It was a day of joy and unity, one I will cherish forever.
