Mora sat in her parked car, staring at Jaehyun slumped in the passenger seat, his head resting against the window as he slept peacefully. She let out an exasperated sigh, brushing a strand of hair out of her face.

Opening the door, she hooked one of his arms around her shoulder, pulling him upright with some difficulty. "Come on, Jaehyun. Work with me here," she grumbled, her heels clicking against the pavement as she tried to balance his weight.

"God, you're heavy," she hissed, half-dragging him toward the elevator. It was like maneuvering a drunken toddler who happened to be six feet tall. To make matters worse, Jaehyun wouldn't stop mumbling nonsense, his body swaying left and right, making her struggle even harder.

By some miracle, Mora managed to get them to the elevator without tripping over herself or losing her patience entirely. Her feet ached from her heels, and her arms felt like they'd been through a full workout. She jabbed the button for her floor and leaned against the wall, catching her breath.

As the elevator doors closed, she tried to adjust his arm around her shoulder, only for Jaehyun to suddenly wrap both arms around her in a clumsy but tight hug. Mora froze, completely taken aback.

"What the hell, Jaehyun?" she exclaimed, trying to pry his arms off her. "Stop hugging—!"

But Jaehyun only held on tighter, his chin resting against her shoulder, his embrace warm but utterly unwelcome in the moment. Mora let out an annoyed groan, her attempts to shove him off proving futile against his drunken determination.

"You know what, whatever. I'm too tired for this," she muttered, giving up with a roll of her eyes.

The elevator hummed softly as they stood there, Mora feeling annoyed, Jaehyun seemingly lost in his drunken stupor. She closed her eyes, praying the ride would be over soon. Then, she heard it—a soft, muffled sniffle.

Her body stiffened, and she tilted her head slightly, glancing at Jaehyun out of the corner of her eye. "Wait... are you crying?" she asked, her voice a mix of irritation and concern.

Jaehyun sniffled louder this time, his voice trembling as he slurred, "Mora is so mean... so mean. I'm so tired of putting up with her bullshit all the time."

Mora's jaw dropped, her irritation immediately flaring into indignation. "Excuse me?" she snapped, turning her head toward him.

"I work so hard," Jaehyun continued, his words spilling out unchecked, "and she just piles on more work on me. God, I want to quit so bad."

Mora opened her mouth, ready to deliver a cutting retort, but his next words stopped her cold.

"But..." Jaehyun's voice softened, his grip around her loosening slightly. "But I can't leave her. I don't know why, but I just... can't."
