The ride to the bar was... quiet. The hum of the engine mixed with the low buzz of the radio, a playlist of soft indie tracks filling the space between them. It wasn't an awkward silence; it was just... nothing. They didn't really have much to say to each other. After all, they only interacted when it was necessary, either for their lovey-dovey acts or for work.

Mora was the first to break the silence. "Did you finish sorting those documents I sent you a couple of days ago?" she asked, her eyes firmly on the road ahead.

Jaehyun, still scrolling through his phone, replied without looking up. "Yeah. I'll send them over to you when I get home."

And just like that, the conversation fizzled out again. Silence reclaimed its throne, the only company being the faint tap-tap of Jaehyun's thumb against his screen and the occasional turn signal click.

Thankfully, five minutes later, Mora pulled into the bar's parking lot. She cut the engine and turned to Jaehyun with a pointed look. "Alright, listen up. No more wild stories. Just keep it simple this time." Her tone was firm as she grabbed her bag and stepped out of the car.

"No fun," Jaehyun muttered under his breath, rolling his eyes as he unbuckled his seatbelt. Sometimes, Mora was like the physical embodiment of a buzzkill, but he trailed after her anyway, hands stuffed in his pockets.

As they approached the bar entrance, Jaehyun caught sight of their colleagues already inside, chatting and laughing at a corner booth. Sungho spotted them first, his face lighting up as he waved enthusiastically. Taesan joined in, his grin almost mischievous.

Mora, ever the professional actress, slid her arm into Jaehyun's, her grip light but intentional. She waved back at their colleagues as though they were the picture-perfect couple.

Jaehyun tensed at the contact, glancing down at her. "You're really committing to this, huh?"

"You think I'd let them see through us? Please," Mora whispered, her voice low but teasing. "Besides they'll start talking and at some point it will reach my mom. And with that maybe, she will slowly get off our backs."

By the time they reached the table, Sungho and Taesan were already sliding over to make space.

"Look at the happy couple!" Sungho teased, patting the seat next to him. "Come on, sit down. Drinks are on us tonight."

Jaehyun exchanged a brief glance with Mora, who gave him a subtle shrug before taking the lead and sitting down. "You guys are too generous," she said with a sweet smile, her tone dripping with faux gratitude.

Jaehyun sat beside her, reaching for the menu with a sigh. "What's the strongest thing they've got?" he muttered under his breath, only to feel a sharp elbow jab into his ribs courtesy of Mora.

"Honey," she said sweetly, her smile as saccharine as her tone, "you're driving us home, remember?" Her eyes flashed a subtle warning, the unspoken Stick to the script loud and clear.
