The gryffindor common room is filled with the laughter and chatter of all the girl students. Magical facemasks, and all the pampering. Everyone is super excited for the yule ball tomorrow. Seraphina walks into the common room, with a smile on her face. She walks over to Ginny and Hermoine sat in the corner. "Hey Ginny, can I talk to you a minute, alone?" She asks, walking over to them. Hermione smiles and nods, leaving the two girls in that corner of the common room. "I'm sorry, I was snappy earlier" I begin to apologise to her. With a wave of her wand, she places a magical facemask on me. "Has this got something to do with everything changing?" She perceptively asks. Seraphina nods, but the words she wants to say won't come out of her mouth. "You'll understand soon" Seraphina ominously says, before walking back to her dorm room. Ginny still feels confused.
Seraphine lies on her bed smiling. She feels happy, that her dad is around and seemingly not putting himself in danger. She has a very good looking boyfriend, who seems devoted to her. She's very excited for how her secret will be shared during the yule ball. After looking back in her special box, and rereading the book she borrowed from Harry again, she takes the book back to Harry's dorm, leaving it by his door, with a thank you note. Before going back to her dorm room, taking off the facemask, and eventually falling asleep. That night, her mind races as she sleeps. She thinks of the best case scenario as well as the worse case scenario. She wakes up in the middle of the night, and sneaks out, with her wand, to the spot by the lake, in the grounds of the castle. The moonlight is high in the sky, as it reflects off the lake. I sit there in the spot in silence.
Theo walks over quietly, sitting besides me. I smell his cologne before I see him sit beside me, so I know I am safe. "Couldn't sleep?" His deep voice softly asks. Seraphina nods, "Tomorrow's a big day." An anxious smile escapes her mouth. She turns and holds Theo's hand. "My dad knows about us" She exclaims excitedly. Theo's eyes light up, seeing Seraphina so happy and excited. "Has this got something to do with the yule ball?" He asks. Seraphina leans into his embrace. "Yes, the truth is going to come out" I smile, as we both sit and contemplate how the school dance will change everything. We sit there the whole night, and actually end up falling asleep on each other. We are suddenly awakened by the morning sun. "Oh my" I awake, shocked, realising we are still by the lake. "Theo wake up" I shake his arm, kissing his cheek. Theo slightly awakes, "Theo it's morning!" Seraphina exclaims. Theo awakes shocked. We kiss our goodbyes, until later and we go back to our own common rooms.
Mattheo and Draco are talking in the slytherin common room, just as Theo walks in. "Well, well, well.... where has Theo been?" Draco teases. Theo shakes his head, "You boys, really need to get over it" Mattheo scoffs, looking up at him, "Us get over it, you're the one seeing a gryffindor girl" Mattheo sneers, disapproving of Theo's choices. Theo walks back to his dorm, to get ready for the dance. While Seraphina also walks back into her gryffindor common room. Walking past Harry, on her way through the main gathering room. "Hey! Seraphina" Harry calls, getting my attention. I turn to him, "Thank you for returning the potions book" He says. "My pleasure" I acknowledge. I then go meet the girls in their dorm, so we can get ready for the dance. All the girls are excitedly giggling, looking forward to the dance. "Morning ladies, are we ready to party today? Seraphina asks, entering Ginny's dorm room. A collective cheer bounces around the room. Magic is being used, doing each other's hair and make up. Everyone looks so pretty a few hours later, when they're all dolled up. Ginny is wearing a pretty long red dress and Hermione is wearing a long flowy pink dress. I however, haven't got dressed yet. I'm nervous too. I ask Hermione and Ginny to do a job for me. I trust that they can go and find Theo, and bring him to my dorm. As I wait in my dorm, getting dressed, when the girls go on their job. They successfully find Theo, and bring him into Gryffindor's common room.
Theo nervously follows Ginny and Hermione into the common room. He's ready for the dance, in a simple tuxedo suit. "Did Seraphina say why?" Theo asks curiously as they walk to the middle of the common room. Hermione, comes to my dorm room. "He's in the common room" She informs me. "Tell him, I'll be right out, and you and Ginny go on to the dance" I shout through the door, certain everyone can hear me. Hermione walks back to the main room, everyone heard me, and the girls leave to go to the great hall. Theo stands in the common room, awkwardly and nervously waiting.
I put on my dress, a black number, which is strapless, with a structured bodice, and long silk flowing skirt. I look great, like a princess. I smile, doing one last checks, before walking out, into the common room, seeing Theo looking out the room's windows. "Beautiful view huh?" Seraphina softly asks, smiling behind Theo. Theo turns around. The disbelief is on his face. "Wow, Seraphina, you look beautiful" he admires, leaving Seraphina blushing. He holds his arm out. "Shall we?" I nod, as I take his arm, holding onto it, as we leave the common room. Walking along the corridors, we can hear the music and excited students chatter. As we get closer to the great hall, my grip tightens on Theo's arm. My heart races. Just as we get to the doors, we stop and look at each other. Theo kisses my forehead, as we take a moment. Just before the doors to the great hall open.
