Years after having our son, we learn just how true the prophecy we were given is. It tests all of our limits to how much we can endure before breaking, how much we love each other, and how far we are willing to go to help each other. There are new f...
Before we knew it, it was nearly two AM and all the kids were finally starting to get tired. Aria and Ray took Ella and Bee home and Celia, Kellan and their kids went back to the fae realm. Jade was passed out in Ava's bed already.
"I suppose we should just leave her," Jason said to Nicky. "It's just one night." I could see Nicky was apprehensive.
"She'll be fine, Nicky," I said. "And if you wake her she probably won't go back to sleep."
"And maybe you two could use a kid free night?" Zane said to them. Jason said something quickly to Nicky in Spanish that I couldn't entirely understand because of how quickly he said it, but I got the gist of it. Nicky's eyes opened wide as Jason continued to whisper in her ear.
"Okay. Jade can stay here with you guys for the night. We'll be back at ten. Is that okay?" I nodded as Jason pulled Nicky away into their car as they went to a nearby hotel.
"Of course you guys were talking about sex, again," I said to Zane as I closed the door and locked up behind them.
"We're guys. The conversation always turns to sex with our wives," Chris said. "And the four of us, aside from Ray and Aria, probably have the most interesting sex life. So, what if we try to get them a few pointers here and there to help them out?"
"Well, don't go giving out all your secrets!" Val said as she, Zane, and Chris had finished cleaning. I grabbed my computer and sat down at the kitchen table to send an e-mail to the Canadian Magister as they started up the stairs. "Are you not coming to bed?" Val said putting her hands on my shoulders. She sounded upset.
"I just want to send this before I forget. The Ripper is moving fast, and if they do end up in Canada I don't want to risk Dylan not getting the help he needs – or even not being allowed in the country." She pulled out a chair and sat down next to me. "You're not going to go to bed? I'm sure you're tired. You've been up since five AM."
"Yes, but I won't be able to fall asleep until you come to bed anyway. I can wait." She scrolled through her phone as I figured out what I wanted to say and typed out the e-mail.

I sent the e-mail and closed my laptop, seeing Val passed out in the chair with her head down on the table. I laughed softly as I reached my hand over to her.
"Val, honey... come to bed," I said.
"Hm?" she said, sleepily.
"You fell asleep waiting for me. Come on. You don't want me to pick you up, then you need to get up and come to bed." Half asleep, she stood up and stumbled over to the stairs. I held on to her sides as she walked up the stairs to our bedroom. She sat down on the bed, fully clothed and was about to pass out again. I undressed her before that and then laid her down gently. I put my own pajamas on and then got into the bed next to her. She glowed softly.

Dylan left with a few wolves to track Benny. By the time he got to Illinois, he informed me that his scent was faint – but was already gone from the state. As he headed through Iowa and Minnesota, I got e-mails from them over the next week that he was there. As we tracked him, Dylan called me at the border of the US and Canada.
