^outift of the day
When Diana returned, her students were all bickering with each other and she watched them in amusement. Closing the door behind her, she made her way over to them.
The ones bickering where Mathew and Pansy, while it was obvious that Theodore and Daphne where just purposely throwing oil onto the fire, finding the argument between the siblings rather amusing.
They came to a silence when they realised Diana's presence and she looked at them expectantly.
"Well?" She spoke up, her eyes roaming over her students. "Do you have answers to my riddles?" She asked them and watched them all exchange looks.
Obviously they where all silently arguing on who would speak up, none of them wanting to take that role upon them, if seemed like.
After a few seconds of silence passing, it seemed like one of them had enough of the silence.
Daphne spoke up first. "Well the second one was easy, we got it almost immediately," she pointed out, making Diana smile and give her an expecting look. "You throw the ball up into the air," she answered.
"That is correct, indeed," Diana happily told them. "And for the other question?" She asked.
"Well, we aren't sure if we have it correct," Blaise admitted. "But we have an idea and technically, it could work," he explained and Diana was intrigued.
"Do go on," she encouraged.
"Well," he started. "If you turn one of the light switches on and wait an hour or so, then turn it off, then turn on another switch and go look in the rooms, two will be off, one will be on, obviously," he explained and Diana nodded at him, waiting for him to continue. "But one of the light bulbs that's off will be warm because of how long it had been on,"
Diana noticed the others all nod along and then look at her expectingly.
"Well, I have to say," she started, making all of their eyes turn big in suspense. "I am proud of you," she simply stated. "Both of your answers are correct, how did you come to them?" She wondered.
"Well, as we said," Pippa started. "The first one was pretty easy, Theo had barely repeated it and Mathew and Draco had already come with the answer," she giggled making Diana shrug.
"It always depends, to some it comes easily, to others it's a bit harder, always different," she explained. "And the other one?"
"Was way more difficult," Theodore groaned, causing their professor to chuckle, covering her mouth with her hand.
"Understandable," she said amused.
"We really went back and forth a lot about it, then Pansy came with the whole idea about one of the light bulbs becoming warm and we figured out the remaining together," he explained to her, his eyes slowly blinking, indicating he must be tired by now.
Diana knew it was late by now and they all should be hurrying to bed and get some sleep, but she couldn't be prouder. They had all worked together to get an answer, probably bickering and arguing a lot, but they got there together.
She loved giving helpful detentions. Making a student write lines, clean trophies or sending them into the god forsaken forbidden forest in the middle of the night was going to do nothing for them.
Might aswel have them use their brain in a fun way, so that is exactly what she did. Sometimes students even told her that they'd had fun.
"I'm happy you all got there together," she voiced as much. "Now, you may all go and I sure hope I won't find all of you on the roof again in the middle of the night," she gave all of them looks which made them innocently avoided her gaze.
