My eyes grow ten times bigger and I sink to my knees out of astonishment. Me? Never land?

Luke crouches down and checks if I'm okay.

"Are you okay, Wendy Darling?" he asks with deep concern in his bright blue eyes that remind me of a sea.

"Slightly stunned." I mumble, still in shock.

Luke chuckles at my response and jumps back up to his feet. Afterwards, he helps me up by grabbing both my hands and I can't help but stare at his eyes yet again. That's when I notice.. his age..

"You said Never Land?" I ask again to reassure myself.

"Did I stutter, Miss Darling?" he asks humorously.

That's strange. I don't remember Peter's Lost boys to act the way Luke is right now. They were immature.. wild.. and well... lost. Luke's portraying someone who's rude and is fond of sarcasm.

I don't think we're going to get along very well.

"I thought you never grew old in Never Land.."
I state, making his grin turn into a straight line.

"Everyone has to grow up sometime." he frowns.

My eyes grow with worry and immediately I think of Peter. Where is he? Why isn't he here to tell me all of this?

"And Peter?" I ask, suddenly intimidated by the figure before me.

Luke purses his lips and lets out a deep sigh because of my never ending amount of questions.

"He never said goodbye to you?" he asks.

My mind flashes back to the day I last saw him.  It was snowing in the morning and I distinctly remember asking Peter if I was ever going to see him again. His answer was completely cheesy but I knew he meant every single word of it.

"I'll be waiting for you," he had said, "back in Never land where I will always love you."

To think of it, he didn't really bid a proper farewell to me. It was more like a casual.. "see you later."

"What do you mean goodbye? Goodbye as in 'see you late I'll never see you again' goodbye?" I mumble, already feeling my heart slowly break.

"Exactly." Luke nods unenthusiastically with his head hanging down low.

My insides turn inside out and I fall yet again to the floor. Luke catches me in time and I wish him gone. I don't want him here anymore.

"I want you to leave."  I plead, still in Luke's embrace.

"You don't understand," Luke says, "Neverland needs you. We need you."

I laugh at his childish plead. Neverland needs me? This has to be a joke.

"Neverland doesn't need me, it needs Peter." I reply with complete honesty.

Luke inches his face closer to mine and shakes his head down at me.

"I assure you Wendy, that jerk is nowhere to be seen. The lost boys and I need you to look for him." he begs, still holding onto me.

I roll my eyes," Why? Why should I be the one to find him?"

His grin appears again and he brings me to my feet. I'm caught off guard when he sprinkles pixie dust on me. I'm flying in the air with Luke, bringing me back to those moments of that one night my entire life changed.

"You're prettier than I remembered you to be," Luke says casually," I'm sure all guys want to be found by a pretty girl they loved with all their heart."
