I find myself flying beside Luke in the path of Neverland. "Second star to the right and straight on till morning" I remembered Peter saying.
Not a moment passes till Luke opens his mouth to talk yet again.
"Now that I think about it, you really are pretty." Luke notes as his stare burns towards me.
And so the kiss up act begins now. Just a moment ago he was being his rude self and now, it seems as though he's trying to redeem himself.
"You've got some nerve, kid." I reply, keeping my eye on the sky.
"Ouch." he banters sarcastically.
I roll my eyes and soar beneath the clouds and into the kaleidoscope that separates reality from magic. My vision blurs for a second and right away the world around me changes. I almost lose myself far enough to get stuck until Luke grabs both my arms and wraps them around his neck for me to hold onto.
Once Neverland is in sight, I let go of Luke.
"You didn't have to do that.." I mumble as I admire the sight.
"You're stubborn, you know that?" Luke grunts, "Also for the record, I'm no kid. I'm twenty one, mind you."
I bite my tongue after that, and entirely ignore the fact that I have no idea where we're supposed to land.
"Right there, princess. Land at the entrance of the treehouse." Luke instructs mindlessly.
I huff at the fact he just called me "princess" and land perfectly at the opening of the tree. Almost immediately, I'm greeted with a big hug from three grown boys.
"Wendy! Wendy!" a boy with hair that resembles the galaxy yells.
"We're so excited you're here!" another boy with light brown curly hair cheers.
"Jesus.. you've gotten so.. hot over all these years." a boy with bright brown eyes stutters, making me blush.
Luke lands behind all of us and scared the three lads.
"Watch your mouth, Calum. I can hear you a mile away." Luke grunts, walking past us and into the main room.
I can't help but roll my eyes in his direction before the three boys re-introduce themselves.
"I'm Ashton.. but you probably remember me as Slightly." the boy with long curly hair smiles.
Ashton shakes my hand with a firm grip and I can feel Luke's strong glare from the main room.
"I'm Michael.. but I'm better known as Cubby." the boy with galaxy hair grins.
The third boy is singled out and I can distinctly remember him out of all the lost boys. He was the youngest one that never spoke the last time I was here.
"I'm Calum," the last boy smirks,".. also known as Tootles."
I look at the boys once more and realize that they are two boys short.
"What happened to the twins?" I remember.
Michael lets out a sad sigh and kicks the rock beside his foot. Ashton and Calum look down with blue faces.
"They were captured by Hook ages ago." Luke answers while he sharpens his knife.
The thought saddens me and I quickly regret even asking the question. Ashton coughs uncomfortably and changes the subject on a lighter note.
"I see you didn't bring any spare clothes for your stay." Ashton mentions, glaring at Luke.
Luke passes by and sighs, heading towards another room. When he comes back, he has a large blink 182 t-shirt in his hands. He hands it to me casually and I look at him entirely bewildered.
"You can wear that to sleep.." Luke mumbles, going back to the main room.
I thank him quietly for his offer and hug the shirt tightly to myself.
"I wasn't aware I'd be staying here for awhile. Where'd you guys get the new wardrobe by the way?" I wonder, noticing that they've ditched their old animal skin outfits.
Michael slouches against the wall," The Mainland. We go there time to time to get a few things like clothing."
"Wait, did you say you weren't aware you were going to stay here for awhile?" Calum interrupts.
I nod sheepishly which causes the three boys to punch Luke.
"DID YOU NOT TELL HER ANYTHING ABOUT OUR SITUATION?" Michael yells, hitting Luke's stomach.
"YOU HAD ONE JOB, LUKE! ONE FUCKING JOB!"Calum adds.
Ashton shakes his head and backs up to cut Luke some slack.
"As long as you told her about Peter, you're good." Ashton exhales, signaling the boys to leave Luke alone.
Coughing and panting, Luke catches his breath before speaking.
"I didn't tell her everything about him.." Luke answers weakly.
All four boys turn to my direction but it's too late.
I leave into the forest before I can hear another word.
Now that I think about it, I shouldn't have come here in the first place. Who was I to think I could actually enjoy going back to my childhood? Here I am, running in this forest with nowhere to go.
A sudden gleam catches my eye and I notice it hide behind a tree. Pacing forward, I'm greeted by a familiar fairy.
"Tinker Bell?"
