Until I Found You

Chapter 14

At 11:30pm I get a text on my phone from Eli.

Eli: I'm here

I head out the door, quietly although I know my dad is watching me on a secret camera or something. 

Asher headed out only around 15 minutes prior and I know he won't be too enthusiastic to see me at this party with Eli. Honestly his words from earlier were still in my head but I didn't want that to get the best of me.

"Hi" Eli says as I get in the car. I smile at him "hi" I say seat belting in before Eli drives off. 

A few short minutes later we arrive at the party house and the music is already blasting. People are outside on the lawn, a few even throwing up from the amount of alcohol they consumed and well me, I'm regretting coming, but I know Eli will make it worth my while.

We get out of the car which we parked down the street and walk into the house, Aaron was the first to greet us. "Wassup Eli! Hi Miles! I'm glad you came!" he yells over the music; he has a cup in his hand which I assume is some alcoholic beverage. 

"You guys want anything?" he asks even though he is not the host of this party, I guess the host at these types of parties don't really cater do they.... 

"no I'm alright" Eli replies in which Aaron rolls his eyes "ok ok I'm just glad you got out of the house" he laughs patting his back. 

"What about you Miles?" Aaron asks looking at me, "I'm good" I tell him in which he chuckles, "you're perfect for each other" he yells before walking away. 

I'm thankful for the color changing lights in this room as they hide the blush I feel creeping on my face.

"No fucking way, did you really come with him after everything I said!?" Asher yells walking over to us. 

He is very clearly drunk as for one he would have never approached me like this sober and two he is being an ass to Eli who he is slightly terrified of. 

Eli looks at me waiting for me to explain, but I don't know what to say to him. "Come on Miles, you have to be kidding me, you see that guy" he says pointing to Eli "he's a fucking dick" he yells looking very wobbly. 

"Ok calm down Asher" I say pulling him to the side. "No, I won't calm down! He's a user, he uses people!" he yells. "You see that guy" he points over to some random guy I've seen around the school before but never met. 

"That's Conner, got really buddy buddy with Elijah last year for like two months and then boom never see them talk again" he whisper yells to me. 

"you're really drunk, I think you should drink some water" I yell, but Asher shakes his head.

"Hey Asher, maybe you should sit down for a minute" Eli says walking closer to where we're at, noticing how clearly wobbly Asher is. 

"Like I'd take advice from you, you bitch" he yells lunging towards him with a fist hitting Eli in the nose. 

The music suddenly seems quieter as everyone looks over to the scene. Eli's nose is bleeding all over at this point. and Eli steps back. "Asher!" I yell at him grabbing his arm back from its fist.

 "Oh shit, get him Eli!" the crowd chants, everyone waiting for Eli to strike back as he usually does. Eli was known to fight back if challenged and those fights never ended well for his opponent. 

"Yeah, come on Eli, fight me" Asher yells at him and the crowd roars. I can see Eli's hands tightening into a fist angrily, but I give him one last look of desperation in hopes he'd spare him.

 Eli looks at me and I see his fists drop, instead he walks away through the crowd and Aaron follows. The crowd boo's and disperses and the music suddenly gets louder again. 

"that's what I fucking thought bitch" Asher yells and I hit him on the arm "are you fucking crazy! You would have never stood a chance!" I practically scream leading Asher to a couch. I push him to sit down and get him a glass of water, "drink it" I say leaving him there.

I find Eli in the kitchen holding his nose in a paper towel to catch the blood. "I am so sorry!" I say looking at Eli. 

"it's not your fault" he says still looking up to stop the blood. "Asher was almost fucked if you weren't there" Aaron laughs. 

"I know, thank you for not killing him" I tell Eli in which he looks down as the blood has finally stopped. "I figured I couldn't really punch your brother" he chuckles in which I give him an apologetic smile. 

"Wait Ashers your brother? Ohhh this makes sooo much more sense now. I didn't know why we cared about Asher so much" Aaron laughs before heading off into the crowd.

I grab a paper towel and run it under some water before ringing it out. 

"Care if I help?" I ask Eli in which he gives me a nod to go ahead. I get the remaining blood that's dried up off his face and throw the paper towel in the trash. 

"thanks" he says as I'm walking back. "it's the least I can do as my brother literally punched you" I laugh.

Shorter chapter today but i make up for it by having Asher be an idiot lol
