After dinner I go up to my room and start working on some homework. I think about my history project in which I decide I need to message Elijah to see when he is available.

Me: Hi, it's me Miles. When do you want to work on our project?

To my surprise he responds quickly to my message

Eli: Miles huh, is that your name? I always thought it was Chase or something

Me: Eli huh, is that what you go by?

I mock rolling my eyes at his level of difficulty.

Eli: Sometimes.

Me: So, when can you work on the project?

Eli: Tomorrow, 8pm, your house, does that work?

Me: Yeah, that's fine

Eli: Great, see you then Miles

Me: Don't you need my address or something?

Eli: No.

Me: How will you know where to go?

Eli: Stop worrying, I would have asked you if I needed it

I shut my phone off, annoyed at his overly cocky tone. He's rather going to have to message me tomorrow because he has no clue where I live, or he is going to completely not show up because I know for a fact he has never been to my house.

The next day school rolls around quite fast, another boring history lesson thanks to Mr. Fletcher. A math class in which I didn't understand anything, and a few other useless classes that filled my day before lunch period.

At lunch I couldn't help but glance over at Elijah in which I seen him mindlessly dazed on his phone while two girls practically begged for his attention. I felt a buzz in my pocket in which I pulled out my phone to see a text from no other than Elijah.

Eli: You don't have to stare Miles, you'll get me all to yourself tonight

I feel my cheeks burn red, only due to the fact he'd ever think I would ever possibly want him to myself. I look up at him in which he smirks at me before turning back to his table.

Me: You have quite the ego, probably all the hits to the head you've gotten from football

Eli: So, you watch me play huh?

Me: As if. You know this school can't go a minute without talking about the perfect star quarterback, heaven forbid he got tackled

Eli: It's not my fault they can't afford to lose me

Me: yeah yeah whatever

The rest of lunch I turn my attention back to Oliver and Callie where they were talking about their classes and which teacher they already hate the most.

By the time 8pm rolled around I had cleaned my room for it to look somewhat presentable for when Elijah got here. Not that I cared about his opinion, but I also didn't want to look like a slob.

I sat on the couch and waited for him, like an idiot, because by the time 8:25 rolled around I lost all hope of him showing up. I knew it. As I'm about to go upstairs I get a text.

Eli: I'm outside, didn't want to ring the doorbell incase someone's asleep

I go to the door and to my surprise he wasn't lying, he was right outside the door like he said he would be. "Elijah, you're late" I say opening the door allowing him to come in.

"It's Eli, and yeah, I know" he says walking past me as I roll my eyes. Maybe he does go by Eli. "Should we get this over with?" he speaks before heading up stairs. "Where are you even going!" I reclaim running after him.

To my surprise he finds my room just fine and makes himself comfortable on the bed. I shut the door behind me and sit down across from him on the bed.

"Why were you late?" I ask suspiciously. "None of your business" he replies mindlessly. "Perhaps you didn't know where I lived after all" I laughed in which he gives me the finger. "For your information, that was not the reason, now can we start on this already?" he says dryly before getting out his laptop from his backpack.

We start working on the project only making it 1/4th of the way done before I audibly yawn. "Tired?" Eli asks me looking up from his computer. "A little, it's fine, we can keep going" I say trying to refocus on my own computer. "We aren't going to finish this all-in-one day anyway; you should get some rest" he says getting up from my bed.

I watch him as he packs up his stuff. He opens the door to my room as I get up to follow him out. "Fuck Miles watch where you're going!" I hear Asher say angrily before turning on the light in the hallway to see not me but Eli staring at him. "Oh shit, sorry man, that's my bad, I totally ran into you!" Asher corrects himself in a rambling mess.

I roll my eyes at his quick switch in tones. Eli looks at him and then back at me"you're brothers!? How did I not know that?" he asks looking at me. I shrug. "We are nothing alike!" Asher states quickly before looking at me with an apologetic look. Eli lets out an awkward half-laugh before heading down the stairs in which I follow. He turns to look at me as he's exiting the front door"have a good night, miles" he says and then he's off.
