It was late in the evening and you had just finished up cleaning the dishes as you noticed Johnny walk through the door. You wipe your hands on the cloth and turn to face him. You desperately wanted to go up to him and kiss him, for you missed him after he went on lengthy his road trip. Although you urged to to tell him how much you longed his touch, he seemed occupied on the phone.
As soon as he ends the call, he gets the first words, beating you to it. You lean against the counter and expect the sweetest of words, something along the lines of I love you or I missed you.
Unexpectedly, he walks past you and heads straight towards the fridge stacked with leftover beer from his last teammate reunion party. "Who was on the phone?" You ask curiously, raising your eyebrows while you expect the name you consistently hear: Sean.
"Just Sean, no biggie. He wants to throw another party and I said Saturday was fine, but not to worry it'll only be the team and a few other guys."
You roll your eyes and chuckle harshly, "yeah, no biggie at all. Just the entire team and a few strangers on the night of --"
He slams the fridge door angered by your response and glares at you with his eyes almost unrecognizable. "They're not strangers, Y/N! It's just Jim and his friends from the last time!" He takes a quick sip from his drink before returning to argue with you. "How many times do I need to tell you?" He mumbles.
You squint your eyes at him and clench your teeth, "you're not getting my point."
"No, you're not getting mine!" He exclaims, pointing his finger at you. He seldom ever pointed his finger and if he did, it was in a joking matter - never during an occasion quite like this.
"I've had enough of you constantly begging me to clean this place up while you whoop your ass around like its nothing! It seems to always be about hosting parties, when more than half the time, I didn't even agree to it!"
"Y/N--"
"Obviously, it seems my plans and opinions don't matter to you anymore," you tell him, lowering your voice in disappointment of the man standing in front of you. Your reputation as a couple was simple, the two love birds that were irrespirable.
He rolls his eyes and scoffs. "Just shut your goddamn mouth and listen, Y/N!" He shouts back at you, tightening his grip onto the beer can so hard that it became dented with his aggressive touch.
You're eyes budge at his raging words. They tackle you like chains and before you know it, you're close to tears. Johnny doesn't seem to care though, because he keeps rambling on about the stupid party.
You push yourself past him as he stumbles with your actions. Tears are now streaking down you cheeks, but you can't help it. Before entering your shared bedroom, you scream: "I suppose our anniversary no longer means anything to you! And great! Because I don't give a damn about the stupid event anyway! Nor does the fact my parents are arriving from such a distance on Friday, involve any of your presence!"
You shut the door and flop onto your bed, the strong smell of Johnny - that you loved - hitting your nose. His scent made you sob even worse, possibly waking the whole city. Your face is stuffed into the pillow as you helplessly cry aloud, not caring if Johnny cared or not. You've had enough of his actions and it was only now that you broke down.
After about an hour, you hear a knock at the door, but you promised yourself you wouldn't allow him to enter. Not only did you refuse to let him see you like this, but he was also the one whom had caused it.
