Your hands skimmed the cool rubber of the vehicle. You sensed all fear flash within your body, causing your hands to tremble in reluctancy. The motor roared once your finger pushed into the gas. Locking the gear into neutral, you repeat your action of applying pressure onto the gas throttle.
Your friend whips in a circle directly in front of you, happening her excitement before motioning her hand for you to follow. You groan through your helmet, bringing your hands to place your goggles protectively frontal of your eyes. After a quick moment your brought yourself to silently pray for the exceptional best, your hands rest on the handlebars while your thumb collides with the gas. Before you know it, your trailing behind your crazy peer in the dirty trail she insisted bringing you to.
If it hadn't been obvious enough to many other riders whom bypassed you, it was your first time controlling a four wheeler. After the early phone call you received the last morning, your good girl friend decided the best way to celebrate was to ride deep in the public trails. The sudden awaited news you've been wanting to hear since you were a little girl had finally gotten to you, the woman's Fifa Canadian team longed your joining. A friendly gesture of driving you to the nearby McDonald's would have been more appropriate and appealing, but of course, things didn't go your way. This leads you here, steering your way past motorbikes and pine trees.
In the upcoming distance you gradually notice the enormous washout of mud appear closer and closer. You sense your heart thump helplessly louder while your mind hastily webs useless ideas of how to approach the sticky situation. But once you face the brown unappealing puddle of utter mud, you have no other choice but to follow a risky move your friend would make. Recalling how she occasionally avoided puddles by swerving her vehicle to the far side, you thoughtlessly do the same. Completely unaware of the fact the mud on the end was realistically a three foot pile, your four wheeler begins tipping to right.
"Shit! Houston, we have a problem!"
Your whole body falls to a panic emotion as soon as you recognize Y/F/N was out of view range. This only meant one thing, you were going down and going down fast. "Is this freaking quicksand or something?!" You hop off the leather seat, your hands releasing the grip of the handlebars.
"Someone help! I cannot afford letting my best friend's ATV sink in this mess!"
"Hey! Hey, you need help?" You hear someone call out, preventing their all-terrain vehicle from going any further. You jerk your head around, happiness exploding inside of your body. You desperately urged to praise this magnificent soul, wanting to fall to your knees and bow in front of him as a token of your gratitude. Unfortunately, your ATV awaited to be rescued.
"Umm," you turn to take a glimpse at the descending machinery, "yeah."
You watch the unknown man take off his helmet, revealing a heavenly face of a purely kind adult. He chuckles at your situation, his voice soft. You suddenly feel as if you're placed in an unclassified position, your heart racing, palms sweating, cheeks reddening, all while the desire to kiss him stands strong.
"Glory, this is a mess," he says, approaching the yellow ATV slowly. He changes his eyesight to you, warmly smiling to reassure he would somehow be able to fix everything.
Were eyes ever that pretty, you thought.
"Okay, I think we might be able to pull it out. If plan A doesn't work, then I could try driving it or hooking it up to my machine," he tells you seriously, clearly meaning business.
You nod, clapping your hands together. "Let's get 'er done," you sign, following behind the friendly stranger. It was an common trait you carried around that you feared being in a stranger's close presence, but today seemed to unfold differently. You were helpless to sensing any harsh vibe, you figured he was just a miraculous gift from above, being generally good hearted.
