"Baby, you all right?" You ask, hastily glancing at John. For the time being, he was awfully silent. It was not like Johnny was never silent, but he sure wasn't scared of expressing himself in front of me.

He mumbles a quick yes, not bothering to look you in the eyes. Continuing to stare out the window in utter silence, it began to get on your nerves.

"Johnny, would you please speak your mind? What's up?"

He shrugs simply longing to remain silent as the extended drive continues. "Y/N, it doesn't matter. Please just continue focusing on you driving," he tells you, stirring frustration and sadness clear in his tone.

You grit your teeth and attach to his frustration, growing more inpatient with his every action and snarly tone. "No, I refuse to when you act like this."

For the first time in what seemed like hours, Johnny looks you dead in the eyes. You can instantly notice and make out the saddened emotion outlining his fading glow. "Is it because we're going to meet my parents, again?" You ask.

"Do you really wanna know, Y/N?"

You grab onto his hand as your eyesight remains on the abandoned road. "Of course, baby, I'm your girl and you're my guy. We're supposed to share stuff, y'know."

He draws a deep sign and returns his gaze ahead of he road and passing trees. "Okay," he bits his lip, "I overheard the conversation with you parents last night. I thought maybe this time could be different and maybe they had changed their impression on me, but after hearing what they had to say about me, I guess not."

You were stunned by his words and reasoning behind his viable gloominess. Late last night, long past you thought Johnny had gone to bed, your parents called. You assumed John couldn't sleep over thinking about reuniting with your parents up in your old home. Obviously, Johnny had gone on the other line.

You note of the tears brimming in his no longer sparkling eyes, "how am I supposed to marry you when they don't even accept me into the family?"

"Oh, Johnny, baby--" you attempt to say, trying to warm him up. You fail as he brushes your hand away and returns to his original grumpy position. You were acknowledged that all he really truly wanted was for your parents to accept him for whom he was.

Your parents pleaded and requested for you not to bring Johnny along with you, but you had briefly told them that was the hold point of meeting up with them. Your mom had weeped knowing they would have to put up with your boyfriend once again. Considering the last time hadn't ended the way you wished. Now your father, he was another story, he was furious with the fact Johnny was coming over to their valuable home. The whole hour on the phone was mainly made up of your parents bickering about Johnny and how awful they felt towards him. After ending the horrific call, sobs racked your body, and the only thing you could do was pray for the best.

You choose to stay quiet the remainder of the drive. But with Johnny's more filling he car, you couldn't help but feel the horrible urge to cry and turn around. You just figured facing them once more might be worth it in the end. Hopefully.

As you pull into the driveway of your childhood home, you can't help but faintly smile. You unbuckle your seatbelt and exit the car, unawarely leaving Johnny in his seat. Until you finally recognize Johnny isn't by your side to ring the doorbell, you turn on your heels and approach your vehicle. He sits inside, arms crossed, emotionless face.

"Baby," you start, signing at sight of him.

"I just want them to like me, is it so much to ask?" He mumbles after exiting the car. You chew your bottom lip and embrace him into a sympathetic hug, kissing him as you both released.
