It was sometime around twelve, possibly even later. You didn't mind the least, and neither did Travis. After all, he was the one to come up with the idea of sitting under the stars that twinkled above you. Despite the fact it was way past your curfew, and you should've already been at home with your awfully strict parents, you broke yet another of their many rules.
"I love you," you hear Travis mumble, bringing you closer into his chest.
You were on the hood of his car with a blanket laying underneath and atop of the both of you. It sure wasn't some fancy dinner date, In fact it was ideally better. You admired watching the still stars spread throughout the dark sky. Especially with your boyfriend by your side.
"Hey, Y/N?" Travis pipes up, getting up as well in the process. He smiles and looks down at you, wonder dancing in his eyes. You admirably tilt your attention to the boy beside you. You hum a quick mmm and allow him to continue.
"What do you see in the future?"
"I hope I can land a great job, something to do with children because I adore them," you confess happily. Beating him to it, "all of that besides being with you."
He chuckles and brushes a strand of your hair behind your ears, "you see us in the future?" He repeats, almost as if he was terribly unsure if he had properly heard you correctly.
You fix your eyes upon the sky once more, "I'm no psychic, but I stand to believe we'll make it." He grabs onto your hand after you tell him your theories of the far yet near future. Your heart jumps with his touch and a smile is creased into your face.
"You want a family?"
You nod your head yes, "one boy and a little girl named Y/P (your preference)." You were friends with a countless amount of people that refused or denied wanting to do anything with children. You must've looked at little children differently, because you adored each small youthful kid your eyes landed on. In quite honesty, you couldn't hide your excitement of one day becoming a mother.
"Y/P," he repeated, letting the simple yet desirable name roll off his tongue, "that's beautiful."
You lay your head on top of Travis' beating chest, feeling the rise and fall within every breath he took. He begins playing with your soft hair, mumbling many times how much he loved you. Typical, you say to yourself.
"I want to have a future with you, you know," he announces carelessly, his voice filled with devotion and promise.
"I know, I can speak the same for you."
You were the high school sweethearts, the constant lovers, the irrespirable pair. Everyone figured you two would end up together anyway. The way you both looked at each other, desperately wanting to do so for hours. Attempting to run away together after exiting a rough argument that developed at home. It was everything, together.
"What do you think about getting married? Raising a family? All in the comfort of our cozy home down near the rink. Doesn't that sound ... amazing?" He asks cheerfully.
"Everything that has to do with you sounds amazing, babe," you sign blissfully, "I don't care if we live here, on the moon, or in a shed, as long as I'm with you I'm happy," you play a toothy grin, expressing your sincere happiness.
"Gosh, I love you so much," he says, nuzzling his head into your side.
"That makes one of us," you playfully remark, keeping your straight face as you cross your arms. Instantly, Travis arises and moves away from you. He exaggeratedly gasps and crawls over you. His hot breath tickles you as he is only a few inches away from your face, both his hands set beside you as he leans over you in delight.
"You don't love, now," he jokingly frowns, attempting to keep his expression but he ends up failing miserably.
"Y/N, don't make me do this," he warns, his precious alarming smirk driving you crazy.
You release countless giggles as you lay helplessly ticked by Travis. You had to be about one of the most ticklish pedestrians, and Travis knew exactly when to use it to his advantage.
"Okay! Okay!" You scream banging and thumping on his back for him to halt his session, "I love you! I love you!"
He grins down at you and plants a kiss on your lips. When he releases, you only bring him back to your control. Not even allowing him a second to catch his breath. You laugh during your kiss as does he. As he moulds into your touch, the step is taken further. It ends with the two of your making sweet innocent love under the stars watching down on you.
"You take my breath away, every time," he sheepishly admits, rolling beside you.
You wink, "I have my ways."
After that, you both silently lay wrapped in each others arms under the stars you'll never reach. Trapped in a world of your own as you both share ideas of the future you both frantically wish for.
Moments like these felt like you were caught in time moving in slow motion. The thrilling experience made you never want to leave the moment. But unfortunately, every good thing falls to an end. Which meant, either you wanted to or not, you'd need to face your presumably angered and frantic parents.
After making out with Travis for what had to be the tenth time that night, he drove you home. Of course you had insisted he vanished before your parents would give him at it too. But knowing him, he refused to leave without another proper goodnight kiss.
"I love you," he tells you, finally letting go of your hand as you walk up the driveway. You nod and blow him a kiss before he drives off into the night.
You bite your lip forcefully trying to hide your never fading smile, but you couldn't help the butterflies in your stomach nor the way you felt. You enter your home, not even daring to tiptoe or bolt up the stairs as silently as you could. You were happy, happier than a bee with honey. So instead of making a scene where it looked like you were never gone, you sing. You him the soft lyrics of the song you and Travis decided would be played at your wedding. A classic that just so happened to be yours and Travis' song.
The lights in the living room were kept on, which was unusual if your parents were asleep. This only meant one thing, they were fully awake. You didn't mind though, because not a worry was on your mind, at least not after experiencing the best night of your life.
And as your parents continuously hollered at you for being home past curfew, you nonetheless smiled, only thinking about a boy who changed your world.
