There was no fanfare, no news and certainly not a crowd of relatives and whoever else, waiting with bated breath as Elijah and Sophia got back into the country, swiftly making their way back to Elijah's estate in the dead of the night.

Elijah, ever the efficient, even more so private one had pulled out all stops to make it go as seamless as possible and the sight of that huge place was a wecoming one to both of them after their barely over 2 weeks long tryst across a select few European countries.

Sophia awoke to herself being gently moved and lifted from the plush and comfortable seats of the sleek black sedan that drove them. Her nose tickled from the cool air outside and she instinctively snuggled into the familiar scent and warmth of the man who had lifted her.

There were multiple shuffling of feet around them as their escorts moved about, it was followed by sounds of the cars leaving and some murmuring but Sophia paid no mind to either. She felt boneless after the trip and was carried like a princess out of the cold, up the short few stairs and through the already open main doors of the huge building.

Sophia was perfectly content to stay this way forever, in his arms, deliciously sated, comfortable and extremely pampered in ways she could've never imagined. In fact, if someone was to present this future to her a full year and some months ago, Sophia would have possibly laughed until it became impossible to breathe.

Reality prove itself to be all the better. Sophia was immensely satisfied and couldn't imagine anything better than this moment.

Sophia heard Elijah's voice as he spoke to a few of the others shuffling around, he gave orders here and there. She did not focus much on his words, finding more content with the vibrations from his chest.

He carried on and even with her in his arms, he got everything in running order and soon left them and went up another flight of stairs.

They soon arrived into another room that felt already warm and toasty, as if the people employed here were already aware of their return and got the space ready. Sophia sighed and soon found herself being placed onto an even more soft and warmer surface that smelled faintly of vanilla. She frowned a little, feeling Elijah's arms detach as he put her down on the bed and her frown got deeper as she no longer felt his presence. Although she itched to reach out, Sophia knew he was still here so she didn't bother, she simply sighed and tried searching for the sleepiness that had attacked her midway into their journey.

It was hard to do so. Unfortunately her mind was mire awake than ever.

Sophia resorted to listening as he moved around the room quietly, doing hell knows what. Sophia only got to hear muffled foot falls, sometimes over the carpets and other times over the tiles, that and the occasional rustle of fabric.

When it became too much to bear, Sophia took a peek. She spotted him immediately, on the other side of the room where there was conveniently a small office area set up near the tall windows. She had only one second to think...God! As she saw him there. Elijah stood some ways from the main desk, distractedly undoing the top most buttons of his shirt as he stared into the screen of an open laptop, thick yet neat brows furrowed.

Sophia was completely drawn in now, the apparent 'tiredness' from their travels began evaporating with every button that came undone.

Sophia sighed to herself, her gaze momentarily going to the heavens and back.

Lord give me strength to not jump this man, was her only short prayer, said only a moment ago.

Elijah paused and for a second Sophia thought he noticed her staring but no, she watched his jaw tense and he reached over, almost angrily to type something onto the keys, a long 'something' it seemed because his hands didn't let up from flying over the keys until a few minutes had passed, only then did the tighness disappear from his eyebrows.
