I was falling—or, was I? Jolting awake, I was met with the blank dark ceiling hovering above me, the dim lighting creating an ominous ambience. My hands roamed up my naked body, instead feeling the smooth fabric draping over me. As I sat up, the satin blanket slid off my bare chest.
Glancing around, there wasn't a single person present in the room. Where was Sylus? Why did he leave me? Did that mean the nightmare came because he wasn't here?
Ignoring the intrusive thoughts barging into my mind, my hands threw the fabric off of me as I stood up. The carpeted floor was oddly cold, so was the air conditioning in the room. Yet, the same enticing smell of oud lingered in the air. Did it come from the bedroom, or was I missing Sylus a bit too much?
A soft creak broke my train of thought. Instinctively, I pulled the blanket over my body, throwing my gaze towards the door of the bedroom. Sylus closed the door behind him as he sauntered over to the king-sized bed, his eyes engrossed on what little skin was exposed and how the blanket framed the curves of my body perfectly. "I should put you on a pedestal," once he stood in front of me, he bent down, wrapping his arms around my body as he pushed me back against the bed. "I can worship you day and night."
"Sylus—!" I protested, struggling under a weight that was twice my own. Sylus barely budged as he had his head on my neck, his cool breath hitting my bare skin.
"Don't worry. I'm still full," glancing at his eyes, I caught sight of his adoring eyes staring at my face. "Unless you're craving for some bratwurst?"
Immediately, I shook my head, giggling slightly as his hair tickled against my neck. "Why did you leave me?" shifting over to make room, Sylus immediately moved closer, his weight nearly pulling the blanket off me.
My question was answered with a palpitating silence, in which I could even hear Sylus's breath that inched closer to my ear. "Did you miss me?" he laid back on the bed, pulling me so that I was laid on top of him, directly facing him. "I had to drive an acquaintance over."
That didn't sound like something Sylus would do. He seemed to pick up on my questioning gaze as he smiled amusedly. "You should meet him. But, first, get dressed," he quietly leant down to my collarbone, nipping on my bare skin. "There's some clothes in the wardrobe, feel free to choose," his hands roamed my back, tracing his fingers against my skin.
Despite his command, I didn't move. My body quite literally melted against his clothed chest, feeling the odd coolness of his skin that radiated a certain warmth I craved, relishing in his scent-a light musk, oud-like and... Eucalyptus? I wasn't sure, but it was definitely therapeutic. Resting my chin on the crook of his neck, I looked at his face from my peripheral.
"What's this? You're being awfully friendly," his hands rested on my waist.
Was it wrong to be awfully comfy around my boyfriend? Ugh, now that I thought of it, the title didn't suit Sylus at all. 'Boyfriend' sounded too innocent. Though the way he spoke those words kinda irked me. Spontaneously, I bit onto his neck. I could hear his breath hitched at the unexpected move, which satisfied me, as I stood up with the blanket wrapped loosely around my body, leaving a short train on the carpeted floor. "Next time, I won't be too friendly."
