"I think we've arrived," Kurapika said, breaking the silence that had settled over the group. His words were a welcome relief, breaking the tension that had been building after [Name]'s outburst.

[Name] huffed, crossing their arms, their face clearly showing they were still upset. This made Kurapika and Leorio feel bad about the whole situation, but neither of them wanted to admit they might have been wrong. After all, it's tough to change someone's views, especially when they've held onto them for so long.

"We'll finish this later," Leorio muttered under his breath, glancing at Kurapika, who nodded in agreement. Neither of them wanted to push [Name] further, especially when they could see the clear anger and upset in their eyes. [Name] looked like they were a second away from summoning Mahoraga—something neither Kurapika nor Leorio even knew about but knew they didn't want to test [Name]'s patience.

[Name] released a long breath, relieved to see that the two weren't planning to continue their petty argument. It seemed they wouldn't have to resort to drastic measures. "You fucktards, I swear to God..." they muttered under their breath, still frustrated.

"Language," Kurapika and Leorio said in unison, both surprised at themselves for speaking at the same time. [Name] just rolled their eyes in response, clearly not bothered by their comment, and letting out an annoyed sigh.

The elevator doors slid open just as [Name] was about to clap back at the two, making everyone fall silent. The group was met with the sight of a long, dark tunnel stretching ahead. [Name] couldn't even begin to guess how far it went, and honestly, they didn't care to find out. Slowly, the group stepped out of the elevator, and the sound of their footsteps echoed through the tunnel. Dozens of other examinees turned their heads to look at them.

[Name] quickly glared at anyone who made eye contact, and though most people looked away dismissively, [Name] could tell it was because they were just a kid. They would make these assholes regret that attitude soon enough.

The silence felt too thick, like the calm before a storm. [Name]'s fingers twitched, the urge to summon one of their Shikigami to beat these idiots up bubbling inside them. It didn't go unnoticed—Gon grabbed their hand gently. [Name]'s face immediately warmed from the unexpected touch. They had never held hands with anyone unless it was to smash someone's face in.

"Are you okay, [Name]?" Gon whispered, leaning his head close to their ear. His breath sent a shiver down their spine. They felt so close to him, but was this what it felt like to be close to a best friend? They had never really had one before. The thought made them feel a little nervous, but they didn't want to ask Gon if they were best friends. The idea of rejection didn't sit well with them.

[Name] cleared their throat, trying to shake off the strange feeling. "Yeah. Not even nervous at all. I'm gonna show these bitches who's boss." They tilted their head up haughtily, hands on their hips, trying to hide the red creeping up their face.

Gon laughed, his smile bright and genuine. "I'm sure you will, [Name]. Come on, we don't want to get left behind." He tugged on their hand, and still flushed, [Name] nodded, following him, trying to ignore how his touch made their heart race.

"Is it just me, or is the mood here pretty dark?" Leorio muttered, glancing around at the other applicants. "The whole atmosphere is weird. Really gives off those 'go die' vibes."

Kurapika nodded, agreeing with Leorio's words. "They're clearly different from the Hunter applicants we saw back at the port in the city," he said thoughtfully, placing a hand under his chin. "Each one of them is a master in their own right."

Gon walked ahead, with [Name] trailing behind, looking like they had just sucked on a lemon. They really didn't want to do this, but here they were. "Excuse me..." Gon started, raising his hand with his usual smile. But that smile quickly faded as the other applicants turned their eyes on him, sending death glares his way.
