"The examiner only told us to follow him," Gon pointed out, and [Name] nodded in agreement, not missing a beat.

"Plus, he didn't say anything about me riding Blacky." [Name] added, with Blacky giving a cheerful bark as if to back them up. [Name] noticed the white-haired boy's gaze lingering on Blacky. It was pretty clear to them that the boy had the urge to pet their Divine Dog. Honestly, they couldn't fault him for that. Most kids their age would want to pet a dog or a cat if they had the chance. Plus, knowing Blacky, he would absolutely love the attention and probably even preen a little.

Leorio pursed his lips and gave the two of them a side-eye. "Whose side are you on, huh?"

[Name] raised an eyebrow as they watched the unknown kid skate back towards them.

"Hey, how old are you two?" The boy asked, looking at them with an unreadable expression that made [Name] a little suspicious. A small part of them wondered if this kid was just lonely like they were a couple of days ago. If that was the case, maybe they could cut him some slack. After all, they'd been in his shoes before—before they met Gon, Kurapika, and Leorio. But they would never admit that to anyone, except maybe Gon.

"I'm twelve years old," Gon replied, a bit curious as to why the boy was asking.

[Name] nodded in agreement. "Same here."

The blue-eyed boy hummed as he looked between them, studying them closely. [Name] raised an eyebrow, wondering if he was about to pick a fight or something.

Gon tilted his head with a small smile, not sure what the boy was thinking. "Hm?"

[Name] scoffed, crossing their arms. "Is something wrong?"

The boy smirked, and that look made [Name] slightly irritated, but they held themselves back. They didn't want to cause a scene or—worse—get disqualified for picking a fight with another examinee. But, oh, how badly they wanted to.

Next thing [Name] knew, the boy kicked his skateboard out from under his feet and spun it in the air before effortlessly catching it. He then jogged beside Gon and them. [Name] couldn't help but huff, feeling a little impressed despite themselves. It looked so cool. Of course, they would never admit it, because if they did, they were sure the boy would never let them hear the end of it.

"I think I'll run for a little while," the boy declared as he casually carried his skateboard under his arm, keeping pace with the two kids.

Gon's mouth practically dropped in awe, his eyes sparkling with admiration. "Wow! That was so cool!" he exclaimed, looking at [Name] excitedly. "It's so cool like [Name]'s dogs!"

[Name] puffed out their chest, trying to act nonchalant, while Blacky's tail began to wag wildly, clearly pleased with the praise. It made [Name] smile slightly, but they weren't going to admit it out loud.

The boy, now running alongside them, couldn't help but be intrigued by the pair. He noticed Blacky, and it didn't take long for him to sense that something was off. There was an unusual energy radiating from the dog, and he knew it wasn't just any regular dog. It was special, and he made a mental note to learn more about [Name] and their strange companion.

[Name] caught the curious look the boy was giving them, but they didn't say anything, knowing full well that the boy's curiosity was piqued. [Name] had no intention of revealing anything unless it was absolutely necessary.

The pale boy smirked slightly as he looked between the two. "My name is Killua."

"Hi, I am Gon!" Gon beamed at the boy, then pointed at [Name], who gave a small wave, though not as enthusiastic as Gon.
