"Rohm lives here."

"What the fuck, why?"

"Because she's my fucking wife."

"I'm sorry, you're what?" a look of utter confusion crosses my brother's mind. I guess he had 1 million reasons in mind why she could be here, but her being my wife wasn't one of them. I feel Rohm shifting behind me as Valko's blazing eyes snap at her.

"You heard what I said I'm married to her, Rohm is my wife."

"Valenci!" my brother grinds out my name, his jaw clenched so hard it barely moves when he talks.

"What the fuck did you do?"

"I married her." Does he think I might change my answer if he asks enough? I take a step forward now, standing directly in between Rohm and my brother.

Valko has always been more of a stoke type, but his typical can be rather explosive when it's showing, and even though I've known my brother my whole life, I have no idea what his reaction ultimately will be.

"Let's head into my office, and I'll explain." Valko turns on his heels and leaves the kitchen. When I turn around, Rohm is staring up at me, her big brown, beautiful eyes wide with a mixture of fear and panic.

I hate seeing that look on her face.

"See? I fucking told you." I silence her by pressing my lips onto hers.

"Don't do that."

'But-."

"Stop worrying."

"Stop worrying?? You understand that your family hates me, don't you?"

"My brothers have no reason to hate you." She was upset with me but didn't argue any further.

—————-
Valko stands in the middle of the room, arms folded across his chest and his feet spread apart. He's angry.

No, not angry, furious.

"You're acting like a fucking bitch."

"And you're being a dumb bitch." Valko studies me intently, his intense eyes burning a hole right through me with my hands shoved in my pocket. I stand before him, doing the same.

Like some crazy staring standoff kids would do, it's my brother who breaks the silence between us.

"I didn't think you were the type to lose your sanity over a woman." I scoff at him.

"You're one to fucking talk."

"For fucks sake, can you just be serious once?"

"I am, I am completely serious."

"Do you call marrying Martina's daughter in the same week as messing with  Kutsuki's men serious? I call that stupid. What the hell-."

"They went after her ."

"What?"

"Kutsuki's family sent someone to go after Rohm. They threatened her... They hurt her."

"Why?"

"Because of some more shit her mother has gotten herself into, she's got nothing to do with this. You know that just as much as I do.  Rohm isn't her mother. Just like Harlem isn't hers." Valkos's face immediately softened as I mentioned his wife's name if my brother has one weakness, it's her.

"What the hell would Martina get into bed with the Japanese for?"

"I have no idea, but I'll find out there were just some more pressing matters to take care of first." he nods as understanding finally settles in with him.

"You know Papa is going to lose his shit when he finds out, even more so if it's confirmed that  Martina was involved with the Kutsuki's."

"Yeah, I know he's a stubborn Old Man, but she's my wife if he wants me to choose, he won't like my decision." he sighs and drags his hand across his face.

"Well, you're my brother, nothing Dad says, we'll change that." a small smirk comes to his lips.

"But now I want to hear your wife's side of the story."

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" I follow him back to the kitchen where Rohm is processing the batter I prepared before my brother barged into my home into pancakes with a slightly shaken hand.

The look on her face is still one of uncertainty, with a hint of fear when Valko walks up to her. Immediately, I get the urge to once again put myself in between the two of them.

"Stay away from her." Valko pointed his finger at me in a warning. The natural strictness in his voice and his features is back, and Rohm's spine straightens.

"Why did you marry my brother?"

"Dumbass?" I crossed my arms in front of my chest. What is he doing? Now, my brother sweeps his gaze from me to my wife.

"Because he's a stubborn prick that doesn't take no for an answer." Rohm's answer forces a little chuckle from my brother, and her posture relaxes at least a little bit.

"I already told you everything that you need to know."

"I'm asking her, not you."

"Plus, your brother was only trying to help me." Rohm's voice gets more stern with each word. " But now that everything is sorted out, and I even got the money from the trust, he is free to end the marriage."

Valko gives me a curious side eye at the mention of the trust since I haven't told him about that.

"I never wanted to cause any problems for any of you." What the fuck is she talking about?

"If it makes things easier, I can disappear I mean, maybe I should-"

"Is that what you want? To end the marriage and leave?" Valko asked curiously.

"I think that's enough." I won't let him put any ideas in her head. " what the fuck do you think you're doing?" I fist my hands at my side sides.

My brother raises his hand to silence me, and a moment of silence passes before Rohm answers.

"No."

"Good, you're not causing any problems, and nothing that happened was your fault," he smirked with a twinkle in his eye.

"That's the first smart thing you said today." I spat at my brother.
