chapter 19

It felt like I was standing there on the steps for an eternity before he finally spoke.

"I want you to stay where we can keep an eye on you love" dad says

"Can't I just lay in my bed. I'll leave the door open"'I say

"Sorry love but your mum and I would feel more comfortable if you stayed down here" dad says

"Okay. Can I just go up and grab my blanket" I say

"Yes but hurry down" dad says

"I will" I say

I turn back and head up the stairs and into my room. I place my bag down so it's leaning against one of my big glass windows. I go into my bathroom because I suddenly had to pee really bad but I see something. The blades that I used in the shower are still in there. I grab them and shove all three of them in the back of my phone case. Shit I've been up here to long. I quickly grab my dark blue blanket and go down the stairs.

I go over to the couch and just lay down wrapping myself in my big blanket. I still don't understand why dad insisted I get big things to have more space. I turn the tv on and just start watching whatever's on at this point. Mum and dad both walk into the living room and stand next to me so I look up at them.

"We have a meeting with someone so Uncle Louis is going to come stay with you" mum says

"I really don't need a babysitter" I say

"Love you know how we feel about all of this. He's just going to come and sit with you" dad says

"Okay fine" I say

I turn my head away from them and back towards the tv. Mum and dad both just walk away and into the other room. A few minutes later someone is walking through the door. It's uncle Louis. He never knocks. He just always walks in. One time he almost walked in on me and my old friend about to kiss. I wish he didn't have a key sometimes. 

I watch as uncle Lou walks over to mum and dad. He follows them outside onto the porch and shuts the door behind him. I watch their facial expressions closely until I see dad reach for the door. I turn my head quickly back to the tv and pretend like I didn't see anything. Mum and dad walk out of the house and uncle Lou just sits on the couch next to me. I feel like his eyes are digging straight through my head so I just wait for him to finally say something.

"Are you okay" Louis says

"I'm alright" I say

"Your parents told me your medication isn't working" Louis says

"Yeah it's not. I think I need a stronger dose" I say

"I'm glad you're going to get one soon. That's why your parents left. They are meeting with someone to talk about it but they will also not be home to late tonight because they have some work things so I'm here for you all" Louis says

"Okay" I say

I look at him and give him a fake smile until I feel my eyes start to slowly close. I close my eyes and just try and sleep for a while.
