Puppy love

Summary: Claire and Leon finally decide it is time for them to buy a puppy!

Status of their relationship in this one shot: Dating.

The day has been bright & full of glee. Claire can't recall the last time she was this happy. Maybe when she first graduated from Uni or got to reunite with her big brother. Other than that, no day has shined brighter than this particular one. It's not only because Claire is full of joy, but just because life has lately been an emotional rollercoaster and for her to have just this one day means everything.

She's been awaiting this day for awhile for countless reasons.

One, she gets to spend time with Leon and well, why wouldn't she love that? But also because they are purchasing a puppy today! More specifically, a little spaniel! Of course, Claire & Leon have morals so the cute little girl they'll be getting is from the animal shelter near their town. Both of them refused to buy from a breeder — that's just not their idea of playing it safe.

The dog they've had in mind is still at the shelter, no one has taken her. Her name is Daisy and all Claire has been able to think about is her. From the photos and videos she's seen, she is just the cutest thing. She's currently in her puppy stage of life so she'll be a hassle but in the end, Claire knows it'll be worth it.

Leon glanced over at his girlfriend as he drove the car and grinned. He knows she's excited. Hearing her exclaim about dogs and how badly she wants one has been sitting in the back of his mind since the first day she mentioned it. Originally, Leon wanted to surprise her with Daisy for her Birthday in about a month but he didn't want to take the risk of someone else taking her, so it was best for them to do it now.

"We're almost there." Leon said to her as his hand slithered onto her thigh, holding it gently as he used his other hand to control the steering wheel. "I know," Claire smiled with pure excitement, "Only like," Claire checked the surrounding area, "Five minutes!" She squealed with happiness. It is rare for Claire to act out in such a way but how can she not? This is awesome!

The closer they got into the town, the more excited Claire got. She can't wait to take this innocent little baby in as their own. Now that Claire and Leon have their own place together, the puppy will have them both instead of just one or the other; It just makes it a lot easier considering they both want the dog.

"Once we get there, I'll handle the paperwork and paying, okay sweetheart? I know you're just there for Daisy and hey, I don't mind." He snickered at his words and squeezed Claire's thigh gently. Claire snorted and nodded, "Guilty." She winked and looked at her boyfriend. "I do appreciate that though Leon, so thank you. I can't wait to see her in real life." "I know." Leon smiled, his dimples appearing and causing Claire to blush.

Leon is a big part of the reason as to why this is even happening so she couldn't be more grateful for him. He is the best boyfriend in the world. Claire carefully (So that she doesn't disturb his driving) leaned over and placed a simple kiss on Leon's paved cheek. After this, he'll get kisses and much, much more. Leon bit his lip and chuckled, "Save those kisses for Daisy." He said in a humorous tone.

He moved his hand from her thigh and instead held her hand as he drove. Touching Claire in any way is a win in Leon's book. He just likes being close to her — it's all he ever wants.

She sighed deeply and looked out the window with a smile — Daisy isn't too far now.
