Lunch with the kids

Summary: Leon and Claire take their kids out to lunch.

Status of their relationship in this one shot: Married.

Parking the car, Leon sighed softly as he glanced over at his wife, Claire. It's a rather hot day out, signing is inevitable. Leon would kill to be at home with his family where their multiple AC's are, not in this car where the hot summer sun is scorching them. At least school will be out soon—for the kids. That ensures no driving back and fourth to and from their school plus no ornery children anymore—it's great!

Overall, to celebrate both Sam and Marianna completing another year of elementary school, Leon and Claire decided they should take the kids out for lunch. They deserve it. It's not often they go out like this since Claire really enjoys making home cooked lunches and dinner but what the hell, why not? Claire was the one who offered it up anyways. She can't wait to see how happy the kids get. They love her home cooked, healthy meals but they also love to indulge in restaurant food as well.

She took her shades off and hung them up on the mirror as the school bell rang, officially dismissing students for the weekend until the dreadful Monday comes around, forcing them back to their prison of education. Claire sat up straight to keep an eye out for both of their kids. Leon glanced over at her and smirked. "You look hot today, you know that?" And that she did. Claire was wearing a black tank top tucked into faded blue jean shorts - she looked great. Her shoes were sandals that showed off her glittery toe nails that she recently got done too.

Claire snorted and kissed Leon's cheek. "Just for you, handsome." She stated. Just for him? Leon might as well faint now, how romantic. He chuckled and nodded. "Just for me, huh?" "Just for you." Claire restated. They really have their way with words.

Tons of kids began to emerge from the schools doors and out to busses/cars, all ready to seize this day and get home; Which both Leon and Claire can relate too. They both kept an eye out for Sam and Marianna. Compared to the other kids, they're more small and shy so it could be more difficult to spot both of them. Leon has an eye of a hawk, he'll spot them easily. Claire on the other hand, not so much.

Leon saw a backpack, a pink one. It's Marianna's, no doubt. The color, the glitter and the unicorns? Its her. He glanced up at the face and saw her pretty brunette hair. Lo and behold, right beside her was Sam with his plain dark blue backpack (He thought the dinosaurs were to childish despite him only being seven). He rolled down the driver's side window and stuck his head out, calling out for both of his children. "Mari and Sam, over here!" Leon said with a smirk.

The kids looked up with smiles of relief before happily running over to the car and getting in. Sam was in first and was quick to buckle up — safety first then. Marianna climbed in with demure and set her bookbag down, buckling up at well. Claire smiled and looked through the mirror at them. Sam's face was beat red and he was breathing heavily whereas Marianna appeared as elegant as usual. Claire snorted and questioned Sam.

"Gym class, we ran a lot today!" Sam exclaimed with joy. Sam is an athletic kid so that's a plus. "We even played kickball." "How fun! Did your team win?" "No because stupid Haley got us out! She's so slow." "Hey!" Leon shouted sternly but not loud enough to upset anyone. "Don't call girls stupid, not ever. Have you ever considered that maybe she just doesn't like kickball or maybe wasn't feeling the best today?" Oh Leon, always providing solutions that are way too mature for a six year old.

Sam sighed and shook his head no. "Alright then. Behave." Leon stated. "Marianna, how was your day baby?" "It was okay. We got to go to the Library today and I got a book." "Oh? What book?" "Babysitters club." Claire smirked at her reply. Childhood memories began to flood her head but she shook them away. "Great series — enjoy." Claire replied with a grin. Marianna giggled and looked out the window.
