𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐀 sat on the sofa flipping through the channels on the tv, before deciding on an old movie on TCM, when Connor brought her a lemon lime poppi soda. "Thanks hon." Erica smiled, opening the can
"No problem." Connor smiled, taking a seat next to her on the sofa. "By the way, how are you feeling?"
"Still pretty sore, but I'm feeling better." Erica smiled
"I'm just so sorry all this happened." Connor said, holding his girlfriend close to him. "It shouldn't have happened."
"I shouldn't have been so distracted while I was driving. It's just... which everything that's going on, and Terry Silver showing up at my job—" Erica said, then was cut off by Luke
"I know, and the only reason I haven't drug this whole ordeal out, is because you've asked me not to." Connor said. "Believe me, this isn't over."
Before Erica could say anything else, the doorbell rang, and Connor stood up to answer it, opening it to Miguel, a melancholy look on his face. "Hey man, come on in." he said, letting the teen in
"Hey Migs." Erica smiled, carefully standing up to embrace her friend. "I thought you were supposed to be at the tournament."
"Yeah, I'm sorry to stop by, unannounced, but I needed to see you guys." Miguel said
"What's going on?" Connor asked, giving Miguel a coke and the group sat in the living room.
"I hurt my back again, but I'm alright." Miguel said as he opened his coke. "Sensei doesn't even know I left."
"Miguel, are you all right?" Erica asked
"Well, yes and no. I just feel like sensei was putting too much pressure on me to win, and it's not fair." Miguel said.
"There's gotta be more than that." Connor said. "You can tell us anything."
"Last night I went over his place and helped him after he was passed out drunk and he called me Robby." Miguel said
"I'm so sorry honey." Erica said, moving to sit beside Miguel.
"What are you gonna do?" Connor asked, moving to sit beside Miguel as well.
"I'm going down to Ecuador to find my father." Miguel said. "I don't know much all I know is his name is Hector Salazar."
Erica and Connor glanced at each other. "Miguel, we're not gonna sit here and tell you not to go, all we can do is tell you to be careful, especially since your mom and grandma left the country to get away from him." Erica said, then stood up and took out her wallet and gave him some money.
