Flashback — July 1995; Encino Hills, CA
It was a typical Friday night in the valley. It was rare, but Ava and Lana were scheduled to work the nightshift as several nurses had called in, and the men sat in Ava and Bobby's Encino hills home, watching the kids. Erica sat on the floor, playing with her Barbies, while Maverick played with his action figures.
"Hey kids, wanna learn karate?" Dutch asked as he, Bobby, Johnny, Tommy, and Jimmy sat on the couch drinking a beer. "You'll need to know it when you kids are older."
"No thank you, uncle Dutch." Erica smiled then returned to playing with her barbies. "Hey Mav, you wanna be rodeo Ken?" Maverick nodded as Erica gave him the rodeo Ken doll, and he gave her an action figure to play with
"Yeah, I don't want her learning karate." Bobby said. "Besides, Ava will kill me."
"Don't tell me you're afraid of your wife man." Dutch said
"No, it's something called respecting my wife's wishes." Bobby said.
"Anyway, I agree with Dutch. People are assholes. Erica is going to grow up to be a beautiful girl, and she'll need self defense." Johnny said. "It won't hurt her."
"Yeah, we can teach the kids a round house kick." Tommy said
Bobby interjected, "Now wait a minute."
"Bobby, don't get your panties in a twist." Dutch said, only for Bobby to flip him off. "C'mere kids."
Erica and Maverick got up from the comfort of the floor and sat beside Dutch on the couch. "Let us show you a couple of karate moves. If you don't like it, you playing with your toys."
Erica and Maverick glanced at each other, then back at Dutch, before Erica spoke. "I've seen people on tv do these really cool kicks. Can you guys show us?"
Before Bobby or Jimmy could interject, Johnny spoke up. "Sure, get into your fighting stance, kiddos." the blonde said
"Johnny, be careful with my daughter." Bobby protectively said. "Not only will Ava kick your ass, but I will too."
"Please don't accidentally kick my son in the face." Jimmy said. "Like Bobby, Lana and I will kick your ass too."
"Johnny, I'm telling you, if this goes wrong, I swear to God—" Bobby said, only to be cut off by Johnny, as Dutch moved Ava's antique coffee table out of the way
"Would you girls stop worrying?" Johnny asked, and Bobby and Jimmy flipped him off
"Alright, so, what are we supposed to do, uncle Johnny?" Maverick questioned, his green eyes which were those of his mother's, glazed with nervousness
