"𝑰 𝑱𝑼𝑺𝑻 𝑷𝑼𝑻 𝑯𝑬𝑹 𝑻𝑶 𝑺𝑳𝑬𝑬𝑷." Erica thought to
herself as she woke up to the sound of Lucy crying on the baby monitor. She got out of bed, and ran a hand through her blonde hair, and Connor stirred awake.

Lucy was now a few days old, and Erica and Connor had a few sleepless nights. Since Erica was still off on maternity leave, she could sleep it off during the day, and her parents as well as Freya and Rebecca would come over to help her, but it was harder for Connor as he get up and go to work the next day.

"Baby, what's wrong?" Connor asked as he sat up in the bed

"She's hungry." Erica said as she tied the belt on her robe.

"You want me to come and help you?" Connor asked

"I'm alright honey." Erica reassured. "Besides, you have work in the morning. I'll be fine."

After giving him a kiss, and Connor laid back down and went back to sleep, Erica stepped out of their bedroom and carefully closed the door behind her.

"Sweetheart, is everything all right?" Ava asked, as she and Bobby stepped out of the guest room

Erica smiled and nodded. "It's fine guys. Go on back to bed." She kissed her parents on the cheek.

After her parents walked back into the guest room, Erica walked into her daughter's nursery. After carefully picking her daughter up from the cradle, she sat down in the rocking chair, pulled down one of the straps of her nightgown, and her left breast was exposed. The sweet little baby began to nurse, as Erica rubbed soothing circles on her daughter's back.

After feeding her daughter, she fixed her top, then laid sweet little Lucy on her shoulder, and burped her until she let out a loud belch. "Bless you." the blonde smiled

Erica took Lucy to the changing station and changed her diaper before laying her back down. Walking over to the cradle, she gently laid her daughter down and bent down and kissed her forehead.

"Good night for now." Erica smiled. "The angels are watching over you." she added as she looked at the photo of Klaus and Diana, as well as Joshua and Catherine, as well as Connor's parents on the wall.

Erica turned and walked out of the nursery, then returned to her and Connor's shared bedroom. "Everything okay?" Connor asked as he stirred awake again

"Everything is fine honey." Erica said as she laid down in bed next to him. "I fed and changed her, so we should be ok for a couple of hours at least."

Connor smiled down at his girlfriend, who was already falling fast asleep as he held her close to him, before finally closing his eyes.

Lucy stirred, then began to cry. Erica and Connor woke up at the same time. Both yawning, they stood up and stretched, then walked across the hall to check on their daughter.

"Hey sweetheart." Erica said, grabbing her daughter from the cradle, then caught a strong scent. "She needs changing, babe."

Connor laid Lucy down and changed her diaper, then cleaned her up. Once he finished, the newborn stopped wailing.

"Okay little girl, off to bed we go." Connor said as he gently picked little Lucy up from the changing station, and Erica cleaned the changing area, then went to the bathroom to wash her hands.

"Is she asleep?" Erica asked as she laid her head down on the pillow

"Yes." Connor said as he pulled Erica's body closer to his. "You think she'll stay asleep?"

"Sweetheart, she's a newborn." Erica laughed as she snuggled into him, then kissed his jaw. "Goodnight for now. I love you."

"I love you too." Connor said

3:00 am

Once again, Erica woke up to the sound of Lucy crying. Erica sat up and yawned, then ran a hand through her blond hair. Connor didn't even budge. Now, did she get mad? Of course not, because she understood he had to go to work, and he was trying to be the man and the father that their daughter deserved, one of the many things she truly loved about him.

Getting out of bed, Erica wrapped her robe around her body, then walked down the hall to her daughter's nursery. After grabbing a prepared bottle breastmilk from the fridge, she set it on the table, then picked her daughter up, and sat down in the rocking chair, and fed her daughter. After giving her daughter the bottle and burping her, she began to rock her daughter to sleep.

"You remind me a lot of myself y'know. I'm a light sleeper too. I always have been. I guess it's a good thing huh?" Erica smiled as she placed her finger on her daughter's hand, only for Lucy to take it.

Lucy's hypnotic violet blues fluttered shut as her mother continued to rock her, and Erica held her daughter close to her, and kissed her forehead. "Life is complicated, my dear Lucy. Even thought it's complicated, I know you will always choose the right path and you will never doubt your place in this world, because you are so loved."

Erica stood up from the rocking chair and laid her daughter down in her cradle. She leaned down and pressed a kiss to her forehead, then turned on the ballerina system mobile, which played Swan Lake,

"Goodnight my Angel." Erica said as she smiled down at her newborn. "The angels are watching over you."
